I'm quite optimistic about this. It's barely been 300 years since Newton did his thing, were first created 60 years ago, and Earth is 4 billion years old, in the grand scheme of things we are scarcely getting started. Within one human lifetime we went from hypothesizing about computing devices being possible to the majority of people owning powerful smartphones and computers that can interface with any other network connected device on Earth, I don't think that the next century will be any different. In the incredibly distant future it might be possible that humanity will become a type 3 civilization that builds Dyson spheres around stars for power and living space, and technologies will almost certainly exist that today would be thought of as magic.
