Why do I often say I'm overwhelmed and stressed than anxious?


Simple.
I do not think of what-ifs; it's all about what's happening right now and after the event passed, the symptoms are gone.

Anxiety does not work like that.
If I'm anxious, I'd know. I will have ruminating, catastrophic 'thinking too ahead and the world will change' thoughts. If not that all that blame game all over again.

Not confusing conflicting thoughts of now vs then and the headache of being pulled in different directions, nor that "I'm being late NOW!! ! DO IT NOW!! !"
Especially not 'my cup is too full' and the standalone I need a damn break before I break something.


Here's the distinction;
Anxiety towards change is like this intolerance to uncertainty.
Overwhelm towards change is this struggle in transition even if the change is exciting or desirable.

I'll finish my coffee, I'll make breakfast and than I'll clean my apartment nonstop until I hear from my outreach worker, so I don't waste the next two hours crying.

The housework is going well. I've managed to gather all of the garbage and recycling. After I covered the boiling pasta and set the timer for 15 minutes, I've managed to get the entire bathroom done in less than 15 minutes.
