most recently, it was "solveig's song" by grieg. sung in whatever language grieg wrote in. since i am not fluent in that particular language, i got the contours of the words but had not much clue as to what she [the soprano singing the song] was singing about, but it sounded very very sad, just like the rest of "peer gynt."
