I'm very sorry if I came across as rude or disrespectful in my reply. It wasn't intentional. I was just trying to say that I put in a lot of effort to take care of my cats, and after all these years they kind of run the show around my house.

Where were you rude or disrespectful? I didn't see it. I've enjoyed our cat tales. There's a thread here somewhere about our pets and I put some pictures of mine if you'd like to add your guys. I'll have to see where it is!

PS - All cats run the show, so that's cool! Do they also microprogram?

Edit: Here's the Pet Pic thread.

Three years ago I was filming this item for an artist development program in which the organiser mentioned that you should really pursue your passions when you start dreaming about it, and also generally think about it at each moment of the day.
Yesterday I finally had a dream about a random song idea of mine. Today I actually tried recording that cover again and it just frustrated me that, despite having made many songs at this point, I had trouble composing that cover as well as getting the vocals right due to my voice being monotonous. Slowly I am starting to realise that although I like having music and shaping sonic worlds, I don't think that music is my true calling.

blah blah blah you don't have to know your true calling yet, your life isn't over by the time you're 30

Of course I am aware of this, but I have already wasted most of my twenties, partially due to the pandemic and its after effects as I have become more isolated than ever throughout the past five years. I spent so much time pursuing my dream life while getting rejections and financial issues. Even now I have a job I would consider my "dream job" from a capitalism perspective, and it doesn't pay me enough. My unemployment benefits from my previous employer were denied after I waited six weeks for the government to get back at me because god forbid I decided to quit two weeks before my actual contract would end therefore I wasn't officially "unemployed" according to their guidelines. I can't afford to do anything I enjoy, I live in a country I don't like living in, even traveling to different cities within the country is expensive!

And I've been trying to get extra work that's enjoyable, and damn I have learned that it's not just me, but everybody else is also a poor communicator and planner because I spend so many times keeping days free for work-related plans just for them to call things off extremely last minute.

Sick of spending my life isolated away from society.

I'm reluctant to post sometimes in case people think I'm taking the piss

I write a post in all sincerity and then I read it back and it's like I'm reading it through someone else's eyes and I can see how what I'm saying might be misconstruedled or misunderstood so I just don't bother posting it

I think it's time to put an end to this mode of thought

I'd try gluing a dowel in and then redrilling the hole.

My bf took one look by photograph and said "I'll just drill a new hole so you can move the post over to a new spot on the same shelf."

Men. I'm telling ya.

The other one is already on its way and likely 95,000 lbs so it won't be easy to return even if I don't open the box. I'll have to lug it somewhere to ship it back.

How do I get myself into these messes?

Oops! Sorry, I guess I was worrying a bit too much then. I haven't consistently posted in any forum over time, so I guess I make too much of a deal about it in my head somehow :) But I will definitely let that go!

I was enjoying the cat tales too. Thanks for sharing the thread, I'll have to find some good photos of mine and upload them too! And oh my goodness your tortoise shell on the very first page looks so much like my tortie!

My cats don't really microprogram, but I think they love it when I do, because then I sit still and am sort of a captive audience for them to get attention :)

It would be so much easier if my mum had any form of technology for entertainment here in hospital. She doesn’t know how to use a phone, a tablet, any form of music or movie or anything to keep her occupied besides me. She can’t see to read but doesn’t like reading anyway. Even headphones would be a plus to stop the incessant beeping of totally useless and broken machines which keep her awake 24/7. I’d go out of my mind if I were her. Then again she IS out of her mind. Being belted down and immobile with ADHD and nothing to do can’t be fun either.

Burning fish in the oven set off the smoke alarm. Of course it was while I was in the shower and no one else was in the house.
At this point if there was a real fire we wouldn't believe it.

I've been absorbed in my crafts over the past few days. I feel a bit of a high when I'm working on things.
