Could be,they also look like specked King snakes,it would help to get a better look at the patterns on their backs.We have the green garter snake and a striped one that supposedly named because it was marked like the garters ladies used to wear.Some people call them garden snakes,they are beneficial and eat bugs and mice and the King snakes eat other snakes.

Thanks for the info on why Garder snakes are called such, have always wondered. Run into numerous ones throughout the years, always friendly enough. A notable difference between the habits of the two.
