Isabella: you asked for more or less than three books.

Sentient: you have no problems driving.

No Korts, my lie is 3. I have bespoke bookcases but I don't think I have 1000 books, maybe about 500? Lots of my books are at my mother's house, though... I still don't think I have 1000 in total.

I only had three books on my Christmas wish list.

Potato is 1.

1. My mother is furious with me to the point of swearing, because I can't think of any more Christmas gifts that I'd like.

2. My mother has an OCD thing where she has to spend the exact same price amount on my gifts and my brother's, so that we won't fight about favouritism after she's dead.

3. My mother is loads of laughs because she sees the ridiculous nature of this craziness and she laughs at herself.

4. Not only do my brother and I need to cost exactly the same, we must have the same number of packages to open and the same number of things in our Christmas stockings.

5. If any of you guys want something, let me know and I'll get it from my mother as "my gift" and send it to you.

One lie.

How did you two guess?

I failed to mention that I'm in charge of buying everything for everyone in the family either at shops or online, sending it to her home, submitting the invoices to her and balancing the costs on a spreadsheet, then wrapping all the gifts even to myself for her to present. This year I'm in trouble because I didn't buy myself enough whereas my brother needed something fairly costly as a one-off. I've been yelled at for this. His purchase is allowed but I must buy more for myself.

Requesting cash or gift cards for the difference is not allowed.

When it comes to Christmas in her mind, it's the price that counts. Not the thought.

Perhaps she's the one with autism?

It's insanity. You have no idea. There's more but I don't want anyone to think there's a chance I'm genetically related.
I've always hoped I'm not. 80% of what I've chosen for myself was just to "add" to the cost to be closer to my brother's price. Now it's still not enough. Charity isn't an option either. Even worse when I'm mute and have to just stare at her while being berated.

1 is most definitely true due to parenthesised add-on. I don't have a license. I do decently enough when there's no one else around, but once other drivers and pedestrians are involved, it's much more of a challenge. I mean... just this evening I was moving someone else's truck into the driveway, and while I saw one commercial truck coming and accounted for it, I initially didn't see the one behind it, and almost went forward into its path.

Hmm... actually, the intended answer is 4, but I suppose they're all true to their own extent.

1. I had a headache with mild nausea yesterday that I took a pill for.
2. I had allergies yesterday that I took a pill for.
3. I wrote the prior set before taking anything.
