How someone could get all snarky with me about my biggest weakness after I spend the afternoon with them because I wanted to.

The way I think of it, autism is a risk factor for acting like an A-hole. Like it or not. So I'm willing to cut people just a little bit more slack on that account.

I don't get why people expect everyone else to have perfect coordination and do everything at lightning speed the moment they become an adult. It's like adults with motor skill delays don't exist. :?

I also don't get why grown adults default to getting frustrated if others aren't as good as things as they expect them to be. I thought adults were supposed to be emotionally stable and patient.

Even if you gave them proper space suits ...what they mean is :give them a one way ticket, ie "send them into exile" (the modern equivalent of sending convicts to Siberia, or Devil's Island).

You have a funny take on it. When Ralph Kramden threatens to send his wife "to the Moon" no one (but you apparently) assumes that he wants to send her on a pleasure cruise.

Folks differ in aptitudes. But DONT differ in ATTITUDES about aptitudes. All humans (oneself included) tend to assume that "if I am good at it then everyone is good at it. Ergo if the person I am dealing with it cant do it that person ...just aint applying themselves, and are of bad character!

A lady friend of mom was a scientist, who supervised other scientists, at John's Hopkins in Baltimore. But this lady (a)couldnt tell left from right, and (b)couldnt read maps. She was so impaired that she couldnt drive herself to the next city to visit mom in those pre GPS device days.

It was very hard for me to wrap my head around ANY adult not being able to read maps.

People blaming their bad driving on other drivers because they were going too slow. Whatever happened to "two wrongs not making a right" and other principles we were taught in childhood? Also same goes for defensive driving, I don't get why people seem to forget how to do this and I don't get why my mom taught me about it in high school only to act like it doesn't apply anymore. Also I don't get why people seem to forget to watch for traffic when they are a pedestrian, we were all taught this as children and it seems like kids are better at it than adults. They act like we want to hit them.

I don't get why people think winter is dark and summer is sunny.

The days get longer from 21 December until June. More daylight.
The days get shorter from 21 June until December. Less daylight.

People treat me like I'm insane when I say I like summer and autumn because they're darker than winter and spring.

Where I live July 22ndish is the longest day of the year and then days started to get shorter again. December 22ndish is the shortest day of the year and then days start to get longer again after that.

People associate sunny with daylight.

You live in the southern hemisphere? ^
I thought you live in PNW.

Yes I associate sunny with daylight.
That's why summer is darker (less daylight) than winter.

Where I live it's darkest during autumn and winter. It's also really cloudy, so even when the sun isn't down it's still "dark".

I'm just confused where League_Girl said July was the longest day.
I don't know of anywhere that July has a solstice.

I know summer seems more sunny because of the angle of the sun and the UV rays.
I get that.
But winter is extremely sunny with a high UV index, especially when there's snow.

When the sun sets is when the day ends. When people say longest day, they mean how long it stays daylight for before the sun starts to set. I don't get how this is confusing.

I do live above the equator but the further up north you are, the more daylight you get and the less daylight you get in the winter. I lived in Montana for 8 years and it would still be sunlight in the horizon even at 11 at night in the summer while being dark at the same time. Here in Portland, we have no daylight in the sky this late at night in the summer like I would see in Montana. But then again my hometown there was further up than Portland. My aunt lived in Anchorage and she told me in the winter it would get dark out around 2 PM and in the summer it wouldn't get dark till 11PM. I know in some places way up north, it stays dark 24/7 and some only get some daylight in the sky while staying dark at the same time. Location varies regarding daylight.

I'm not confused at all.

I agree with what you wrote here ^ .

The longest day which has the most daylight before the sun sets, is 21 June.
Then the days start getting shorter with less sunlight from June - Dec.
The days get shorter all summer and autumn, until the shortest day 21 December.
Then the days start getting longer again with more sunlight until the next 21 June.

Rinse and repeat.

You're saying the same thing I'm saying, but 21 July is never summer solstice in NA.

This is true too ^.
The difference is that in northern places with later sunset, they have darker mornings.
It all balances out in terms of hours of daylight.

The longest days are still during winter and spring, when they have earlier sunrise.

I've noticed this when I go to Los Angeles.
It gets dark earlier than where I live, year-round.

You live farther north than where I am, so your sunset is likely later than mine.

All I know is that it gets light out really early and stays light out really late all summer, and that it's the opposite in autumn and winter. Right now it's still dark around 7 AM and gets dark again around 6 PM, but during the summer it would be light out before 5-6 AM and could stay light until almost 9 PM. Autumn and winter are certainly darker than summer here.
