Yesterday was squirrel appreciation day. I've been watching them lately. I live on the 3rd floor of an apartment with 50+ year old trees around it and I often watch them nap etc. Lately this one squirrel has been trying to build a nest in this one spot, which is cool because it's an excellent viewing point to watch the little baby squirrelies. She has tried at least 4 times but whenever she tries to lay the "ground floor" with twigs they always fall off. Sometimes it's because some randy male climbs up behind her and tries to get frisky. I stand there and root for her and shake my fist at the male.
