Tonight it is a Hawkes Bay (NZ) Chardonnay. I usually drink red wine in the winter, but for some reason I have fancied white wine more recently.

Pronounced lay-dull, accent on the first syllable.

The standard Finnish pronunciation would be lahd-leh. But as an English word I would pronounce it as the Americans do.

I am getting quite familiar with Finnish pronunciation, even if I can't always remember the words, and the grammar trips me up.


How do the Americans pronounce it?
