"This thread is wasted on all you handsome, witty, nice, popular, reasonable, linguistically-conscious, politically correct, socially obsequious, nice guys."

"For goodness' sake! Somebody do or say something that's not calculated to be popular!"

If I was popular do you think I'd be posting here?

Why would any of that be unpopular? It all sells like crazy... and if that's not a vote of popularity what the hell is?

Well, I don't know. There seems to have been a rash of normally socially well-adjusted types playing the "poor me" card.

My comment came from anger and frustration with myself. It wasn't aimed at anyone else, just me.

As for playing the "poor me" card well if the truth be told I'm going through a really bad time and have no one to turn to.
Most of my day and night is spent in tears and I half hoped I'd find someone here to reach out to; but with my awkward way of saying things there's little or no chance of that.

Rightoh! I understand that.

Don't be afraid! The fad "normalcy" is nearly always wrong. Don't trust it just because it's common. Years ago I said to my daughter "I'd rather be lonely than be an idiot". She and her mother determined that the only idiocy is to be lonely.

It's fairly simple; reason or popular fads. Don't be afraid! Don't be intimidated by noisy blabbermouths flogging fantastic Fairy Tales.

Kind regards.

How to be really unpopular in these forums? Say every other sentence in Finnish and say the rest in English. Or German, Latin, Cantonese. Martese.

Niinkuin nyt tällä tavalla. 8)

That might work. But I know for sure that not toing the usual party line is dramatically and instantly effective.

What do you mean rip off! That's the discount rate for Kraftie's handsome, witty, well mannered... etc. etc.... friends. He got a lot more than that out of me because I'm so unpopular that I even had to bribe my way into this club.
