Got one of these in a box of assorted coins and stamps: I was given it as change from a shop in Yorkshire. Scottish minting of the 1948 shilling.
(It’s the same size, shape and colour as a contemporary 10 pence coin)

There is a Kickstarter project going on rite now with 9 days left for~ "FlipDie: The World's First Dice You Flip Like a Coin". I think it's a very original concept & the dice coins look very kewl 8) I woulda posted this when I found out but it was rite after I got to my parents for a about a 4 weeks vacation & I didn't get back home till a couple days ago. I would contribute for a set or two with the Wooden Chest Coin Vault but I cant afford it. I do have a birthday coming up in about a month & should get some money then but I really NEED to prioritize & be more responsible with my spending & start looking for a job soon. Anyways...

Quote:
Our first set, "Pieces of Fate," are made with a Zinc Alloy that is tremendously strong, holds incredible detail, and has a machine-tooled interior to provide random fair results every single time.
Introducing the most unique 7-dice set you have ever seen. Bye-bye colorful plastic. Hello, beautiful shiny dice coins!
These highly thematic dice coins are perfect for incorporating into your adventure's lore or just simply using them as your go-to set of dice!
Our patent pending FlipDie is a metal dice coin that has the same functionality as dice or any other random number generator, but instead of rolling it, you flip it like a coin!
Just flip it, toss it or spin it like you would a regular coin.
When you 'roll' a FlipDie dice coin, a solid steel ball bearing chaotically ricochets around the inside of the dice coin. As the FlipDie settles on a flat surface, the bearing slides down one of the sloped channels to reveal itself along the edge of the coin.

Quote:
When the coin settles, just look for the ball bearing! The number above the bearing is your result!

We used to spend them right into the late 1980's as they used one shilling as a decimal five pence and two shillings as a decimal ten pence when the imperial system ended. This cut the cost of changing so we were often spending coins from 50+ years ago (I had a few of them from the 1930's).
