Tibetan Terriers! I must add that the "terrier" part of the name is a misnomer as Tibetan Terriers have nothing to do with terriers whatsoever. The reason for the name is the fact that the first Westerner to have one, an English woman, thought they looked like terriers from back home, so she called them Tibetan Terriers. Actually ,"Tibetan Apso" is a more accurate name, because "apso" means "bearded or shaggy dog." Lhasa Apsos, another Tibetan dog, were similarly called "Lhasa Terriers" originally.

By the way, how do you post a picture? I tried to insert the URL of a photo blog with a picture of my dog, but it didn't work. How exactly does that work? Also, is there a way to simply post a picture (i.e. from iPhoto) without a URL? If so, how?

Long-haired Chihuahuas are among my favorites. I have three as can be seen in this video:

I also like Tamaskans, Siberian Huskies, Dingos, Akitas, Samoyed, and German Shepards.

I was looking for an Australian Shepherd cross (I prefer mutts!) when I first spied my current dog on the internet. He was at a local rescue company. He looked like he might have some Aussie, so we went to have a look. Not sure what his make up is....but he's a great dog. Has some herding instinct too, since he tries to round up other animals. He only weighs 15 pounds though. He's a little heart bandit. Stole our hearts.

Sometimes, he resembles a Corgi only with longer hair. He's stocky, but not Corgi stocky. We have no background on where he came from, other than he was found living on the streets. It appears that he had been abused by older boys or men. He cowered & cringed when my hubby would try to put on or take his leash off. It took him a few months to realize that we weren't going to hurt him. He's made a lot of progress as far as his fear goes. He's mostly friendly & outgoing now unless some boy/man approaches him too suddenly.
