Aha, I was thinking a web cam probably has some funny functions like that as well, but the earplugs got me thinking DSi + the crappy quality on the DSi cam, but web cams are known to produce crappy snap shots as well.
I'm pretty sure a mac has a much better quality than my crappy laptop webcam that my laptop was built into.
It also came with this program called CyberLink Webcam and that's pretty much how I've managed to get that effect.
Those headphones however are just from my iPod.
