I remember dreading the death of Davy Jones of The Monkees. I had it in my mind that it's usually the lead singer that goes first because of the assassination of John Lennon.

This just shows what a Nintendo fangirl I really am, but if it wasn't for Shigeru Myamoto, there might not even *be* a Nintendo, the games and characters might not still be loved by many people today, and when he's gone they won't have his "magic" anymore, just like Walt Disney or Jim Henson.

He's around 64 now, but you never know. It wouldn't be so bad if he just retires, and he has two children so maybe at least of them has inherited his "gift".

One time I even tried to draw a picture of Mario mourning him and holding his monogrammed red hat to his chest in respect, but I had to stop because it was too sad. :(

Roger Bannister. He is now nearly 88 years old and has Parkinson's disease. He was the first man to break the four minute mile and is an intelligent man well-versed in a lot of subjects.

I will only talk here about older famous people I like. I won't talk about famous people I like who are much younger than I am.

Betty White-she is a true animal lover and an animal activist who, like Cleveland Amory (R.I.P.), walks the walk instead of just giving lip service. It isn't just another celebrity cause for her.

Okay, I hate to write this because they are all so young and healthy but: Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, David Ferrer, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Janko Tipsarevic and Denis Istomin

I do remember being a bit nervous about Janko Tipsarevic, because he has had so many illness and injuries over the past couple of years. I believe he was hospitalized with pneumonia last year.

Another athlete I will be sad about is Australia's John Landy. He and Roger Bannister are practically the only prominent athletes from the 1950s still alive. Herb McKenley, Chris Chattaway, Chris Brasher, Emil Zatopek, Alain Mimoun and the McWhirter twins of Guinness Book of World Records fame, are all gone now.

I'll really miss Anthony Hopkins when he passes. One of the best actors of our times.
