This is why I need to get into the habit of using emoticons more often. People on the forums often take me seriously when I'm not being serious at all.

I don't know how you are going to accurately associate emoticons to statements if non-verbal cues are confusing to begin with.

I just think people need to get a grip sometimes and stop being as*holes. If you have said something that offends a person, then that person could possibly just ask you what you meant to clarify. I have a feeling that misunderstandings occur more frequently than offence with intention. The usual response is for people to treat like with like, and whatever offence they feel they have suffered is returned in kind.

But I maintain that the best position is indifference.
