Otoh Joe sixpack that plays with the airlock because it's fun might have an final reality check.

Well then, airlocks could very well be useful for getting rid of wannabe overlords like Hitler and Stalin.

And also, I loved Firefly, I wish they'd bring it back!! !

It's been too many years now for the show to be brought back as it was. A continuance of events in the same universe could be done, but it wouldn't be the same show anymore.

Well, TNG wasn't so bad after its third season, but then again the audiences of the 80's and 90's were a bit more patient than nowadays and not as many people had convenient methods of whinging about the show. I think most shows that have the potential to become good in later seasons are often killed when they are just starting out simply because of the excessive talkativeness of whiny people who happen to have a means of easy communication with which to inflict their opinions upon others.

I'll go for planets that have no life on them first, and keep the ones with life on them as they are. Ruining their natural process just feels wrong. As for being cooped up... I've been stuck inside a apartment bedroom for almost two years, mostly trying and failing to do more outside the walls. :x I get road blocks, and then get insults for those road blocks. A dome where I could be allowed to benifit others for once, would be great and refreshing.

Within reach of current technology there are no planets with life on them, and none that are known with life outside our reach of vehicles.

It does stink looking for work only to be rejected and then blamed by in-laws for not having work, but the kind of people who blame others for the continued presence of road blocks can shut up. It would serve them right to deal with road blocks themselves and have people they try to care about blame them for being prevented by others from working.

557 years? I'll be 583 years old if I'm still around.

Well, everyone can undergo training, learn as they need to, lose weight, etc. "Right Stuff" isn't genetic, but learned and as long as people are willing to learn and put their minds to learning they will learn. Those willing to do what they need to do could be said to be those with the "right stuff".

the most important part of "right stuff" is keeping your head about you when the stuff hits the fan. not everybody has that in them. that is one thing which cannot be taught.
