Few people, I would say, are blindly optimistic. If they were, that would be similarly unhealthy, I think.

No matter how many kids dream of it, almost none of them are going to be celebrities. It's not until later that kids realize how lucky they really are.

I would never, ever wish to be famous. You only have to look at The X Factor or what happens to many soap 'stars' to understand that.

Even in a perfect utopia humans can't be happy due to empathic neurosymmetry.

I want a job but I don't have one.The system has failed and now unemployment and depression are at an all time high.
The Great Depression will soon return.

Yeah. Once someone gets famous, they never have true privacy ever again. I'd like to be famous in a way that isn't pointless, like in reality T.V. I'd rather be recognized for a specific accomplishment than be the star in the next B rated movie.

I can think of several examples of soap stars that have had their lives ruined by fame and its effects on them. I think with a lot of them there were problems there to begin with but their success, if you will, made them worse.

I'm thinking of Bruce Jones (played by Les Battersby*) and the like for UK readers.

* Yes, it's a joke. ;)

There's no point in fighting when Chuck Norris is going to win anyway

Deleted. I hope you all enjoy this thread. I have nothing cynical left to say.

I look like a teenage boy then deal with it. I can't change my appearance and I will not wear make up and girly cloths.

anything cynical that comes to mind.

Invariably, once I start focusing on something, someone will either send me a text message, or call to ask me to fix their computer. If I'm to fix their computer, the problem, invariably, will be so incredulously simple that a twelve-year old could figure it out.

I hate cell phones.

Cynical enough? 8O

Now that the weather is warming up and drying out, I'm not enjoying it, because I'm coming down with a cold from when the weather was cold, wet, and windy. Ick.

I sometimes wonder if I'm the only person who gets bothered when they see blue phalaenopsis orchids for sale at grocery stores...

Image

I'm sorry, but that color phalaenopsis does not exist in nature. My guess is they use food coloring in the orchid's water.

Who knew coming up with ideas to be cynical about could be so difficult? 8O
