I cut my own hair with a Wahl trimmer on the closest setting, so it is like shaving my head with a little stubble left. It doesn't take that long anymore, as I've been doing it for about 4 years now. I do most of it initially in the shower and without a mirror, I know the contours of my cranium. Then, I look in the mirror for any areas I missed, those usually being above my ears and the back of my head. I just cut my hair 2 days ago.

It wasn't worth it for me to go to a barber or a stylist anymore. They always would miss spots and never took the time like I am willing to take. Saves money this way.

I'm due to do mine tomorrow. It's getting so long that I can hardly see to type this message.

Yeah, I cut my hair once a month buzz. I dont care what it looks like. (97.264% of time I wear a hat, and I dont care what people think anyway. I'm not what you would call a socialite.

My FIL cuts his own hair, and he really shouldn't. He also colors his hair to hide the gray. If he's so worried about his appearance, why doesn't he fork over ten bucks for a decent cut?!?

I go to the hairdresser every two months (half short/long hair). By the time it is REALLY necessary, I start cutting forehair and the longest of the "antennas", and then I order a cut. My hairdresser is very good, so I haven´t had a real bad-hair-day/serious nervous breakdown since I tried him the first time. I think, I shall stay with him, - even though he isn´t the cheapest

My mom saves me from the trauma of visiting a salon and cuts my hair.

I didn't so much mind spending the money, but every beautician seemed to feel it was part of her job to chatter nonstop. My impression was that they expect a larger tip the more words they can get in. So over a period of time I carefully observed EXACTLY how they were cutting my hair and eventually was able to do it myself. With a hand mirror for the back of course. Good enough!

I'm just in the middle of creating a leopard print mohawk. Hope it turns out. Oh well it's only hair.

I have before. Now I don't because I don't cut my hair. At most I might get it slightly trimmed once a year.

I did it a lot as a child, because I felt the impulse to cut things.
I always did a mess and my hair sucked after that, and my mother got angry a lot with me.
But now I no more have the impulse to cut things, so I stopped cutting my hair.

That's exactly what I do, too. I've been doing that for at least 20 years. Partly because of my receding hairline, and partly because it's so much easier to take care of.
