The lyric is "dead-end world", not "denim world."

Slenkar, thank you for posting Martika! I'd completely forgotten about her.

I've done some doozies like that, although I conveniently can't remember them right now... :)

I love alternate song lyrics & titles, like Phoebe Buffay's reinterpretation on Friends of Elton John's "Hold me closer, Tony Danza...". And in maybe '86, Foreigner's 'Urgent' was requested by a call in radio listener while I was driving at night for the first time, except she kept insisting the song was 'Detergent'. The DJ was really good-natured about it.

With the '80's revival and the creation of entire radio stations devoted to songs of the era, there have been quite a few that I only recently discovered I'd been singing wrong for...30 years.

Most recent lyrics lesson of mine:
Madonna ‘La Isla Bonita’ - ‘young girl with eyes like potatoes' is apparently actually "...with eyes like the desert".
Who knew? Not me...

I don't know if this is from the 1980s, but I like this song nonetheless.

This song is from the 1980s and I like the catchy tone.

Depeche Mode's 'People are People' was totally 1980's - 1984 to be exact. Nice choice, it's a good anti-war/anti-aggression song. According to the Font of All That Is True (ie google), "It has not been played live since 1988" because Martin Gore "...prefers his songs to have subtle metaphors to allow people to find their own meanings to his songs, and feels "People Are People" does not fit that description". I still like it. :D

Here's one that technically was (apparently?) released in Canada in 1978 but in the USA AFAIK it only became a hit in 1982 (?) as another early-MTV video. And, no, I have no idea what was up with the live-concert-performance pants.

Nooooooooo! Not "rolly-polly fish heads"! !! :D

I think I have an entire set of neurons from the 80's dedicated to keeping that one stuck in my head. They've been slumbering for 30 years but now they've been awakened!! !

This video came out in the '80's but it was as psychedelic as anything from the 60's.

I didn't even know that was an 80's song. I thought it was late 90's at best.
