Yes, I'm that way too. I never thought anything was wrong with it, until I was an adult and my peers looked at me strangely.

I couldn't have said it better.

Anytime outside of work. Work is nice and controlled, people mostly say and do things with some degree of predictability.

I went though a phase at high school when I was about 12years old and made some friends. The ones who haven't moved away - I am still in contact with (read that as 2 people). They are the only people outside of work and family that I talk to and go out with. This'll make a few people laugh, I'm 24 now. But I don't really mind, I have my interests and hobbies.

This fits me exactly. I am 25 now and had made friends with a few kids when I was little only still in contact with 2. I do have a group of people that I meet with to play RPG games, but while I like them I would find it difficult to actually call them a friend. I just don't think we know each other enough to qualify. (I bet that sounds absurd to a NT.) I have been having trouble continuing going lately as I think my interest in playing RPGs have waned lately. But with how little socializing I get I feel that I should at least continue with this one.

Yeah, I imagine it would be much worse for you. :(

I love it when you post every day, because I get to read a new Mitch Hedberg quote.

Most of it has been said already.

Small talk, making fun of people, and my number one enemy stupid irrational conversations.

I've pretty much stopped trying to fit in with them. But I hate it how they're always smirking and giggling, I always get the feeling that they're laughing at ME!

Yes, me too. Whispering is the worst! Are they that stupid to think that we don't know why they have to whisper? They might as well say it out loud. What's the difference? Either way, we know they're saying something bad about us. I think they get more power out of whispering/giggling. They know that we know, but we don't know exactly what they're saying. Plus, they've successfully made it loud and clear that we're not someone who would ever be one of their confidantes. Every time it happens to me, I want so badly to think of some great way to make them feel bad for hurting others. Everything I think of would only make me look worse, so I pretend I'm clueless as to what's going on.
