I saw something I hadn't seen before. A deer, possibly the largest I have ever seen, ran across the highway at full speed maybe about four or five car lengths in front of me. He was going so fast that I think he cleared the highway in a single bound.

One of the local deputy sheriffs had just passed me. I was thinking that the deer missed him by a foot or two. After thinking about it, I wonder if he might have clipped the hind feet of the deer with the front of his vehicle. The reason I wonder is that a couple of hundred feet later, the deputy slowed down and went over a cattle guard into the pasture that the deer was running into. I thought that was curious at the time. I'm starting to wonder if he went back to see if the deer was injured.

This is one of the worst allergy days I've had in years.

I woke up this morning earlier than I intended because I was getting dizzy while lying down and felt like I was rolling all over the place.

My first thought was to make sure I wasn't having a stroke. So I made sure I knew where I was and what today is. I spoke some sentences aloud to make sure I wasn't slurring my words. I sat up and raised both arms to the side and they both went up together.

So far so good.

My entire head feels like it is stuffed. My ears aren't able to adjust to pressure at all. I have a lot of sinus pressure pushing down on the roots of the teeth in the top of my mouth making them quite painful, particularly on the left side. Also, a bit of a sinus headache, again mostly on the left side. And, of course, there is some amount of dizziness from the ears being so stuffed up.

To top it all off, I took an antihistamine (loratadine) before going to sleep. Usually that is enough to take care of it for 24 hours or so.

I have some benadryl I can take. I'm not sure if it is okay to take the benadryl without waiting for the loratadine to wear off. I also have some cold and sinus medicine that I could take instead of the benadryl.

It won't take much for tomorrow to be better than today.

Monday morning and it is still at it, particularly when I try to lie down and seems to be much worse reclining in my easy chair!

It seems to meet the description of Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo.

The webmd.com site says that I should see a doctor if it continues on for a week.

Another possibility is an ear infection.

One very remote possibility is Meniere's disease since that involves vertigo that lasts for 20 minutes or so. Mine only lasts, so far, about 15 to 30 seconds.

My day went from bad to unexpectedly good. When I was eating breakfast this morning, I collapsed and knocked myself unconscious for about 30 minutes. When I recovered, my NT sister told me that I had a seizure as she and our mom were trying to keep me from getting dressed and getting ready for the day.

However, my mom did allow me to go to campus because today was an exam. Before the exam, I hung out at my school's Hispanic Resource Center and planted a card for a female student who works next door for the school's Multicultural Center. I did so because I wanted to wish her a happy Thanksgiving without actually saying anything.

My girlfriend (who had the day off in order to keep up with her studies) saw me as I was leaving the Multicultural Center and asked me if I was okay. I said yes and we sat at a dining table to eat lunch.

So sorry to hear about your seizure, AA. Hope you’re okay, and that you coped alright with your exam. Glad you got to spend some time with your girlfriend, that your day went from bad to good 8).

Friday was interesting.

I had to climb up on top of an inside portion of a building to hook up some equipment. Instead of using a ladder, they had a manlift there and so I used it. One woman I used to work with had used the manlift before, so she operated the controls for me.

There was something like a three foot tall parapet around the area I had to climb to. We took the manlift up to the top of the parapet and then I climbed out and tried to step down to the platform. When my foot didn't hit the platform when I expected, I lost my balance and fell. As I fell, I grabbed a metal beam and checked my fall so that I didn't hit too hard.

After I got up and was checking for any issues, the woman who was operating the controls of the manlift stepped over to check on me and she also fell. She wasn't hurt, either. We had a bit of a laugh over it.

About the time that she fell, the owner of the building walked in and saw it happen. He sent up a short ladder to make it easy to get back to the manlift.

I'm a bit sore today. I spent about three hours this morning from about 5:30 to 8:30 crawling around in the space above the ceilings in our office building running an ethernet cable. And I haven't finished yet!

I'm running the cable in a completely different manner than what I've done before. In the past, I ran the cable through the steel joists holding up the concrete roof. The ceiling panels in the offices are generally about seven feet under the root itself. You can walk along the tops of the walls holding onto the steel joists to move around.

This time, I'm running the cable above the ceiling tiles but attached to the side of the walls instead. There is so much old cable hanging from the joists that support the roof that it is a nuisance.

I thought it would be easy because I can use a collapsible ladder to go through the ceiling panels to run the cables along the walls, but it's taking me much longer than I expected. Part of that is in mounting brackets on the wall to run the cables through. Next time, of course, I'll at least have the brackets in position along where I am running the cables this time.

My day was good! I got everything done. I also found out I may have a chance at a big promotion, if I can nail the interview.

I had a rather strange occurrence at about 6:30 am.

I was running an ethernet cable from the telephone room to the computer room. So as not to get my regular clothes dirty from climbing around, moving ceiling tiles around, and so on, I was wearing a pair of loose shorts.

At one point about 6:30, I was up on a ladder. From the waist up, I was above the ceiling tiles. I reached over to grab the cable and my shorts fell down to my ankles!

With my shorts at my ankles, I couldn't climb down the ladder at all. There were a couple of people in a nearby room drinking coffee and I thought that I was going to have to call them to come pull my shorts up so that I could get down the ladder. That didn't seem like a good idea. It took about 5 minutes to manage to get my shorts back up so I could climb down.
