I used to think that the babies we would see in public were actually robots. Also, I still have this belief that God is in fact british.

When I was very young I believed that copying other children was interaction and playing. In fourth grade it finally accured to me that I was just being a copier of other children.

I used to believe that the people on TV were real, when I was between the ages two and four.

I used to believe socialism is good and capitalism was bad. Now I know socialism is used as a tool by capitalist to eliminate the compition.

And praying was actually calling God.

When I was very young, I saw a spoof documentary about howspaghetti grows on trees; I didn't realize it was a spoof, and believed in spaghetti trees for a while.

Good fortune,

- Icarus grows on trees...

For a while I thought that the three giant black widows that lived under our house could communicate to each other and were guarding their domain. I also thought that the one that sat on my shoulder was being phsycick and my best friend.. till mother squished it and franticaly asked if it bit me or not.

I used to believe that mirrors were a gateway to another world. The mirror world looked exactly like the regular world, but with two differences: everything is transposed, with respect to right and left; and there are no adults living there, only kids who can do whatever they want. I was very disappointed when I found out that there was no way to go inside the mirror world, which I referred to simply as "that <pointing to mirror> world".

My sister and I used to believe that if we 'spoke' to my dad's car when it was playing up, it would magically work.

° When I was really little, there was a huge sign on our courtyard. I felt proud and awestruck when I believed that I had figured out that the plumber in green dungarees was really God!

° Where I live the bogeyman's the 'Black Man' and I thought that every time we said his rhyme and plaid his game that he was watching me very angry and disapproving.

° When I was six and got into school, I didn't believe the other children that our foreign music teacher who had dark skin would rub that colour off by touch. I did however thought that he was trying to lure us into our school's attic where we would all die a horrible death.

° I believed that all toys, my stuffed animals as well as the tricycles had feelings like me! (which I never believed to be possible for actual people) I also thought that they talked to each other when I was asleep or not home.

° I thought paintings of humans and dolls were out to haunt and kill me. Especially when I put them upside down into the playcan in the evening and they'd sit right there staring at me when I woke up in the morning. It took me ages to figure out my granny out them right each night!

Can't think of more right now...

When I was a kid my parents had this antique Indian mannequin in the corner of the living room. It had a creepy stare and I thought it was staring at me all the time. Watching me.

I used to think that trees grew from the ground up, like the trunk formed in the dirt and pushed to whole tree up.

I believed that the toilet could flush anything. Including myself and was scared to flush it. I was afraid I'd be sucked in and gone forever.

-I had to hurry when I could on the toilet or a horrible potty monster would drag me down the toilet

-If I lingered too long in certain rooms I'd get this funny feeling that meant either a shadow person or a tentacle from some sort of void was gonna get me, so I ran places alot lol(tingles in my back it was).

-Said tentacles of the void could reach at you from the gap where the covers were tucked under the mattress if you were sleepin in mommy and daddy's bed when you weren't supposed to.

-I believed in another world beyond the miror.

-For awhile I wasn't sure if there was a god or if I had a soul or whatever. In 6th grade I was sad and thought I was evil.

-I knew my doggie was special cause she let my kittys sleep on her back, it was sooo cute.

-Animals had their own language that people could learn.

-I figured there wasn't a god but something else, cause in sunday school when they had us pray the other children they thought they heard god talk to them but I didn't get anything.

I think thats all I have that I wanna share.

UnrelentingHorror,

How cute about your dog and kitties. I don't think that's stupid at all. It's adorable. My dog, Partner and cat Prince are the best of friends. I think it is typical of Siamese to befriend the family dog. My first Siamese, Samantha, was also a dog lover.
