You need to check curriculum requirements for graduation and college prep, so that those can be met by students who want to graduate/go to college.

Put the "must do" stuff first, then the "want to do stuff" afterwards.

There are certain basics that everyone needs to learn to get out of high school. Those things need to be learned. But - different students have different tolerance levels. Some will plow through the "must do" to get to the "want to". Some will try.... and the amount of time spent on "must do" will sometimes vary from day to day.

Making it quiet and using the learning modality most suited for the student will make it easier.

I am a teacher and an Aspie......

And I think this needs to start WAY before high school.

:) You might want to earn a decent living some day, so that you can buy all the cool stuff that's been listed in this thread.

If you had a decent start in school, it wouldn't be all that awful. Or it shouldn't be. There are ways to structure school so it's not like "school". If it's overall more fun than pain, it'll work.

sorry i keep replying but im comming up with all these great ideas just now, we will need a classroom with one of those toy rooms like they have at mcdonalds, especially the playpin with all those plastic balls in them. we will also need barrels of beans and rice to stick our hands in to have a good feel around
