Dad decided the name hadn't been used in the family for a while, so he went with it.

My last name means sheep herder, pig guard or high warden.

I had a professor in grad school who named his baby daughter Garvia. Yes, Garvia. He said they might call her Garvey for short.
Envisioning therapy bills in her future.....baby girl had shocking red/orange hair too.
The moral: We should be thankful.
