It is just so charming and wonderful! As soon as you get used to the subtitles. If you can understand French, even better!

One of the worst foreign movies ever, sentimental tripe.

I loved the Pianist and Snowcake.
Haven't heard of Goodnight and Good Luck - have to look that one up.

I steered clear of the World Trade Centre one because I didn't like the idea of Nick Cage trying to be all macho - sad - hero etc...

It's not a 911 problem because I thought Paul Greengrass' United '93 was brilliant.

Do you (and others here who have seen it?) think that "World Trade Centre" is good or bad?

The fireman documentary from 911 (I think it's called 911) was brilliant.

World Trade Centre = plain garbage
United 93 = over-patriotic American gung-ho non-factual BS, they either shot it down or it never happened at all.

I felt like I was watching an American Express commercial or something for like the first hour of that movie.

i'm not sure who here likes foreign films but the film Chocolate is beautiful, it's based around an autistic girl who mimics the fighting style of muay thai and collects money owed to her sick mother.

the actress is said to be the female version of tony jaa, plus they don't use any stunt doubles, wires or effects in the film.

No, the one with Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp is Chocolat, as in the French word for chocolate. That's the one where the woman has the chocolate shop in the conservative Catholic place in France.

Dracula: Dead & Loving It: It's basically the Scary Movie/Date Movie/Disaster Movie/etc. etc. of Dracula films. Directed by Mel Brooks and starring Leslie Nielsen as Dracula. It doesn't have good ratings, but I personally think it's a riot. It's pretty refreshing to see Dracula being portrayed in a comedic light rather than in a depressing or scary way.

Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle (AKA Harold & Kumar Get The Munchies): A pair of stoners get the munchies and try to drive to the White Castle restaurant to get some hamburgers, but keep getting sidetracked. It's surprisingly funny and the lead duo's misadventures get increasingly weird as the movie goes on.

Film critics with snotty elitist attitudes about movies often times get it wrong from my perspective, but they somehow keep their jobs.

Yep, I like that film too.

The best dracula comedy though (imho) is "Love at first bite" 1979 with Richard Benjamin who - until a few minutes ago when I looked it up, I'd always thought was Rowan Atkinson.
