I just did google him. There are zillions of John Gardners , past and present, listed on the web. The most famous was the British writer who invented James Bond. But there was an obscure British composer of symphonic music in the thirties (classical type music) as well. Didn't see much information about him.

I thought bond was ian fleming's man. anyways, the first result I got was of a murderer!

Of course. I knew that! Ian Fleming invented Bond.

But this other guy apparently continued the franchise.

Wait...

You dreamed you had a second girl friend -who was real in the dream- but was a fictional person.

Or do you mean that she was "imaginary" even in the dream?

Interesting.

Kinda like the "Two Husbands of Donna Flor". A Brazilian novel made into a movie starring Sonia Braga in which a widow remarries but her first husband keeps reappearing at her bedside invisible to anyone but her.

fragments of last night's dreams that I remember now- I was in one of my late parents' old houses, it was partially torn down for reconstruction, down to the timbers- in one of the old bedrooms [several times its actual size in real life] I looked up at the bare A-frame and saw these weird huge insects that were like a combo of a capybara and a moth come flying through holes in the construction material near the eaves. they were silent like bats but huge and furry. after a while I went up to one of the holes and blew into the face of one of these beasties so they would stop flying inside. then I found myself in some public mall and I was chatting with some French-Canadian fella about one of my fave comedy groups "The Frantics" and their famous routine, "ti-kwan leap/boot to the head" and the French-Canadian fella told me he thought my humor tastes were too right wing for him, and I told him I didn't understand what was so right wing about that humor. then I awoke.

Funny

If youve heard the whole unabridged version of "Boot to the Head" (not the shortened version on Dr. Demento) at the end of the sketch when the dialoguing concludes- they all break out in to a conga line type song (short short short short short LOOONG)listing folks who need "a boot to the head". And one group who needs that is "folks who vote Re-pub-lican" (according the song). So actually that tract is kinda of the opposite of "right wing".

The Frantics are themselves a Canadian troupe BTW.

I knew they were Canadian, on one of the few CBC broadcasts [over the air] that I was able to receive in my neck of the woods, I saw them on Canadian TV and marveled that they were able to say things with no controversy up there that would never have been allowed to air south of the border.

I had a couple last night. 1st I was around the ocean walking on the beach, swimming in the ocean & walking on these islands that had opened treasure chests.
In the 2nd I was in the woods & got attacked by a lion. I had a hard time falling back to sleep after that & kept tossing & turning.
& lastly I dreamed there was a very stupid criminal trying to counterfeit money by using a copy machine. He made some treats against me & I started chasing him trying to throw a heavy jar at him.

I saw a photo album of false pictures of my family when my siblings and I were all still very young. In one my father had a full beard of the same style hair style that my brother and I have, which is our primary hair color with highlights in it. I've never seen my father with any amount of facial hair until he was over 50 and his hair had already turned pretty gray. He was in a close up pic next to what I thought was my brother as a toddler. In one my mother looked ancient as she was sitting by a window with light pouring in. This makes me think that it wasn't actually my father, but my brother as a late 20 or early 30 year old man. Whoever it was had a lot of freckles, which make me believe even more that it was my brother. Well hopefully life actually does work out for my brother.

I dreamt that I was in a prison or jail in a common cell with a bunch [about 50 or so] of other prisoners, and we were all assigned the task of folding prison uniforms that just came back from the laundry. there was hardly space on the floor as we all squatted down and folded the uniforms, and a short and wiry thug of indeterminate race was trying to bully me and rattle me, saying words to the effect, "there's not enough room for the two of us, you gotta go!" and I looked around at the crowd and shouted back at him, "WHERE IN THE HELL WOULD YOU HAVE ME GO?!" and he got up with alarming alacrity, plainly to kill me, and I got up as well to try to defend myself against him, and then suddenly some female jail guard wearing a form-fitting uniform that accentuated her feminine curves, caught his eye and he glared at me quickly then went over to her and told her, "time for our spanking" and she bent over and let him spank her. then I awoke.

Reading that was a form of mind whiplash!

Thought I was gonna see an action movie fight scene, then suddenly it switched direction to what sounds like the opening sequence of a kinky porno! :D

You all are captive. And doing a chore associated with moms (laundry). The other guy starts acting like a bad ass. But just when he starts to go mono y mano on you -he suddenly stops to allow a sexualized mother figure spank him. Not sure what it adds up to, but its interesting.
