I just had a Hershey's Candy Cane Kiss, which changed my perception of minty things forever. WOW! They are GOOD!

Split pea soup.

A 1 lbs bag of dried split peas
6 or so carrots sliced into discs
6 or so medium sized red potatoes quartered
1 large red onion, diced
1 bulb of garlic, chopped

A couple tea spoons of ground fennel (or sage)
1/2 tea spoon of ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon crushed dry red chilli peppers
1/2 tea spoon lightly crushed dill seeds

Water to cover

Salt to taste ( I used about 1 tablespoon ). Add the salt after everything is cooked.

Cook in a pressure cooker for about 10 minutes on high pressure or in a slow cooker for a few hours. If you cook it on a stove top, you might split the difference in time, but you'll probably have to simmer it for a while and check to see that the water doesn't boil off.

Anyway, this is my standard recipe for split pea soup. It turned out really well this time. It's always a bit of a crap shoot since I can't follow instructions to save my life, even when it's my own recipe.

my aunt's beans(in the pod) in oil. it's not just beans in oil; it has tomatoes and spices and garlic and onion in it. she's such a good cook.

Peach and strawberry yogurt, Welch's strawberry mango fruit juice, seafood tacos (I'm still not sure whether or not these things are going to give me a one-way ticket on board the Pukeway Express), peach oatmeal and frozen peanut butter (I'm not entirely sure why I'm eating frozen peanut butter, but I am). Currently vacillationg over whether I want to consume nachos and refried beans that I made enchilada-flavored or whether I want to make scampi minus the shrimp...
