In my reading room, where I am now, on a chaise with my favourite cushions and books (facing ... ? .... Northwest).

It depends on the season.

Warmer months would be on a couch in a multi-purpose room that includes our library, activity area (e.g. sewing, TV, puzzles, games, music) with an ottoman to put my feet up.

Colder months a different part of the house that has a wood stove from which the radiant heat and dancing flames are unmatched in comfort.

Your wood stove room sounds lovely!

Do you find it hard to believe there was a time in the past century when The Beatles and their lyrics didn't exist?

Thank you. I know how to post youtube links, and how to post pictures and links from the internet, but I do not know how to post pics I would take personally. Otherwise I'd post a pic of the crackling fire sometime.....

Yes, I find that hard to believe about the Beatles. They rank right up there in musical importance and human accomplishment with Mozart, Beethoven, Bach and the other "greats". How is A Day In The Life, for example, not to be ranked with famed classical compositions?

Do you know anyone who saw the Beatles live?

I upload my pic onto Post Image. org and then copy / paste the second link in the list that is generated ('direct link').
Some of the other options are also good, as they can allow your picture to expire over time.
I don't know anyone who saw The Beatles live. My mother hated them and still does :(
I've seen the real Beatlemania, if that counts?

I know people who saw Zeppelin play Earl's Court in 1975.

Oh, after you paste the link to WP you have to highlight it with the mountain icon.

I'll look into that with the pics. I was able to use that vocaroo to post a link to a recording of my voice, so I patted myself on the back for accomplishing that successfully!

One of my sisters-in-law saw the Beatles live in Minnesota when she was a teenager. I don't recall the year. Sadly, she died a few years ago from brain cancer. She was one of my most favorite people in the world. When she was in hospice, on one of the visits we made to see her and after she was not communicative I stood by her bed and told her that we all loved her. She opened her eyes, looked right into mine and mustered the smallest smile. THAT...........is one of my most priceless treasures.

What are your top three favorite Rolling Stones songs?

Tough question for me! I would have to think about that a long time to narrow it down! There are so many good ones.

Monkey Man
You Can't Always Get What You Want
Ruby Tuesday....."Lose your dreams and you will lose your mind, in life unkind..." And the snare drum: "dugga dugga dugga dugga"

Honorable mentions:

Slave
Can't You Hear Me Knocking (I love the beginning and middle, but it goes on too much for me. Similar to She's So Heavy in that regard).

Many others too!!

Favorite Beatle?

Paul.

Oh, I watched St. Elmo's Fire last night. I was disappointed. I think you'd said you haven't seen it? I would not recommend it.

Have you seen the Jimmy Stewart movie: A Shop Worn Angel?

Really? St. Elmo's was bad? I did see it, but it was like 35 years ago and all I remember is the music :(
I'm sorry it wasn't good. I kind of assumed it was like an older-generation Breakfast Club, but my memory fails sometimes.

Thanks for the warning. I considered trying to find a copy.

No, I love Jimmy but I haven't seen A Shop Worn Angel. Do you recommend it?

short: In 2002, when I was deceived beyond comprehension by someone evil.

It was nowhere near the caliber of Breakfast Club. It wasn't terrible, it was more just "m'eh".

I saw The Shop Worn Angel many years ago staying up late one night channel surfing. I thought it was just great.

Short: The only thing that really jumps to my mind as far as misinterpreting someone's actions and words was when my wife and I were dating and I went to a live show of the Indigo Girls with her. I enjoyed the show and afterward we gave each other a quick kiss before walking out. There was a lesbian couple in the row in front of us. One of the two women seemed very smiley and asked us if we had a great time, smiling the whole time. I said "Yes!" She then instantly changed her expression to extremely angry and hateful and she harangued us about how shameful it was for us to kiss each other in public and how difficult her life had been since she couldn't freely do the same with her partner. It was EXTREMELY uncomfortable. When we left the venue, my girlfriend and I were speechless. We didn't talk for a good five minutes. After we started talking we were both of the same mind that we couldn't have cared less if the woman wished to kiss her partner at that venue, in public, wherever. We weren't stopping her! Bottom line, I misinterpreted her overly smiley expression and speech as being genuine whereas she was being purposely condescending and over-animated.

Have you seen any of the "Nick and Nora" mystery films staring William Powell and Myrna Loy?

My mother was named after Myrna Loy.

I haven't seen Elmo's Fire, either. I thought it was sort of a like a poor man's The Big Chill. The Breakfast Club was 1985--really a pretty good film.

Anybody seen American Graffiti?
