didn't make me happy, but today is also the birthday of David bowie, elvis presley, shirley bassey, stephen hawking and some other people who aren't really that interesting

i found out that crossing a red light means you loose 3 demrit points and get a $353 fine which is brilliant. i know it sounds bad but i'd thought i was going to get a $706 fine and loose 6 points and my licence because i thought double demerits applied. i think this is the case anyway.
