Apparently, final exams and mid-term examinations constitute most of an undergraduate's grade. This allows me to pursue my special interests (Berkeley would be nice with its giant library, but it seems like little more than a scaled-up boarding school version of my school with a similar student density during luncheon) to a much stronger extent. I always seem to do better on large tests than small assignments (AP scores better than projected), so it will be a (welcome) change.

ADDITION:
I am having fun reading presentations on parody posted by my teacher. I am also glad that no one ever tried any of the specific examples mentioned on me.

I saw a man that I used to work with and his family today. That was a nice treat. :)

I scored a 1420 on my PSAT (better than I thought I would do). My highest scoring areas were tied with Critical reading and Writing. Tested about 83% higher than my peers.

83rd percentile makes a good score. Good job! :)

I presume, of course, that you are in the eleventh grade, but my odd age (shifted by two years for the first month, shifted by one year for the rest of the school year) seems to confound guessing grade from age. If you are in the tenth grade, I would recommend that the mathematics score is improved for this upcoming year because free money from big companies is always welcome.

Of course, there is still the SAT I and the SAT II's. The SAT II's are actually quite easy if you hold a certain amount of interest in the subjects tested, and there is a wide range. When it comes to the SAT I (the main SAT), I would recommend Up Your Score: The Underground Guide to the SAT. It covers most of the topics in a casual way and provides some instruction on what to do beyond studying. It has helped provide plenty of insight on the various tricks with similar answer choices, but not to a 2400 mainly because of the writing battery.

A girl I've met two or three times greeted me at school and wished me a happy new year.

SAlt meeting. a new person joined up. he was a labour party member but left it in disgust at the ALP conference and joined the protest rally outside.
also playing teacher-student with my 9year old sister. part of the game was to ask questions of her. this is how it went:

me: why are some people poor and some people rich?
her: well, poor people work hard but rich people are rich because they take poor peoples money and they have jobs they work at but they dont really do any work they just take poor peoples money.

yeah my little sister sounds almost like a communist.

me: what is the meaning of life?
her: God was bored and he needed entertainment so he put animals and people on earth and when you finish entertaining God you die.

she only realised how this sounded after i rolled off the bed(figuratively) because i was laughing so hard.
