How young?

As a child, it was a set of encyclopedias and department store catalogs and I was fascinated by girls.

Teenager....girls. I still think women are the best part of humanity.

How did I "get over it?" I dated a good amount and had a good amount of relationships. I got it right on the second marriage and I'm good from here on out. Also, biology and age played a big part in that obsession playing itself out.

Boredom? I don't stay bored long. I guess I do something else?

I don't hold grudges.

I was pretty obsessed with motocross as a kid, but that probably has mostly to do with my dad pushing it so hard. He apparently was pretty good at it, before he became a junkie. As for what I do when I'm bored, I just try to keep myself occupied until I have to go to work or school. As for grudges, it takes a lot for me to hold one, but once I do, I'm never letting go. Take my father for example. Junkie who nearly killed me at least a few times and never paid child support or anything. I can't forgive him no matter what. I don't even want to. Sorry I got so heavy btw.
Is there a course in school you really regretted taking? For me it was doing Spanish 2 three times in a row and still failing it.

My major obsession as a child, and now, continues to be cats. Of course, I will never get over them. The memories of all my special pets will stay with me for life.

I don't hold grudges, but I didn't like when people set limits on what I could do.

I never regretted taking any class, but some were really hard for me.

What was the best class you ever took?

Not sure. I really loved my AP Gov class, but my computer class in freshman year was also really influential to my life. I loved the teacher, content and my peers in my AP Gov class. But then my computer class started me down a path I'm still walking today.

Most useful class: Typing (I can't imagine not knowing how to type; I use the skill daily)
Favourite classes: Literary Theory & Criticism (grad seminar), Comparative Drama (undergrad), Senior French
Worst class ever: Political Theory (undergrad philosophy -- interesting but very hard to retain)

Question:
Describe one of your best memories pertaining to school.
I know most of us had a rough time at school, but try to think of something positive whether social or academic.

A school trip to Bourton On The Water, Gloucestershire in 1969. Best school trip ever.

Do you use emojis a lot?

I think my best memory from school has to either be law day, when they took a bunch of government students(well except for in my junior year; they allowed me to tag along despite not being a senior in gov) down to the courthouse for the day and talked about the law and the courts. I went twice and it was great. The other has to be when some organization set up an event called GenCyber Day, where they made a day full of activities at a big hotel designed to get women going into cyber security jobs. Unfortunately, not enough signed up so they opened things for everyone. I went and it was wonderful, it's just sad that more women didn't go.
Oh and I almost never use emoji.

I use emoji's rarely.

To answer Isabella's question about school. It's a true statement that the happiest day of my schooling through high school was......the last day of school. I found school to be unpleasant and suffocating on so many levels.

A positive thing about it? There are some.

One would be one of three chosen to go to advanced reading in grade school. For the reading hour, that involved the three of us being able to leave our class and go upstairs to read with the "big kids". The book selections were much better and there was an element of freedom.

Math and science.
Also my senior History teacher who made it interesting at last.
Funny thing myvwife’s Master degree is in history.

I also discovered humor as a mask.

What do you like now that you didn’t.
Mine is Brussels sprouts (glazed)

My best memories of school are similar to Magna's. When I was nine my teacher allowed me to do my own independent reading programme for enrichment. I could sit on pillows in the corner with carpet (actually they were bean bag chairs and I could sprawl upside down or in twisty shapes as I do now while reading). Fast forward to Uni and I liked my Acting class wherein we had to learn to recite a soliloquy while juggling (both self-taught without internet). Socially, the only good times I had were with my friend CDW when I was 13-14. I had one year of fun.

Do you keep in touch with anyone from your school days?
(Or if you are in school do you spend time with anyone outside of class?)

I worked in secondary schools prior to my retirement.

I still see some of my colleagues.

I don’t see anyone from my high school days except my brother.

Were you in any clubs in H. S.

Absolutely zero. I hid in the libraries (two schools) and didn't even eat lunch with people.

At various times I tried out for the golf team, swim team and cross country ski team. I did make it on the ski team and only stuck with that for one season. Other than that, no.

Did you yearn to be popular in school?

When I was 13-14 with my best friend, yes I yearned to be popular. I actually was somewhat popular, I think.
That's the point at which the other girls diverged into young womanhood and coolness and social cliques with innuendo that I couldn't understand. I gave up wearing my mask and retreated to the back study carol of a library, only to reemerge after Uni.

Yes I did during my high school years. However, I was one of many misfits and desperate to fit in. Many of my peers didn't like desperate types, so I was an anonymity, an outsider.
