I saw The Smiths at Universal Studios when I lived in CA, 1986.
The night is mostly a blur and I lost my voice for several days afterward.

The first band I saw was Van Halen. Maybe that's why they're imprinted on me

A band you'd love to see, but haven't?

You've given me an idea I might undertake: recalling as many of the live shows I've seen as I can.

My first live show (other than Up With People): Krokus/Sammy Hagar.

I'm assuming you mean active bands rather than bands no longer active.....Paul McCartney if he's still performing.

Weird things you've seen at a live show other than onstage?

I bet I'm forgetting a lot of bands that I've seen, as well. I'll keep thinking.

RHCP was on my bucket list for years but then I had tickets and sold them :( (same with Petty) :wall:
I had tickets to ELO this past September but I sold those (against my will) because my brother backed out last minute. It allowed me to extend my Elton trip to two shows, so it worked out alright, but I'm still disappointed.

If I could see anyone it would be S&G or Travelling Wilburys, and I know you'd agree.
In the realm of 'possible', I'd say ... ELO ? I'm still miffed about that.

I forgot to say I also saw Howard Jones ... and that The Smiths were incredible despite it being a blur. Unfortunately I didn't know them very well when I saw them, and only learned most of their music afterward.

Weird things off stage? I'm still thinking?

Bands I’ve seen:
Joe Cocker (naff)
Alice Cooper
The Clash
The Ramones
The Pretenders
Santana
Doobie bros (rubbish sound)
Bob Dylan
Robbie Williams
Probably a few more but my memory leaks - had a few blackouts in my day

Do you find some people difficult to deal with

I have never seen any group live in concert. There is nobody I would really want to see and I don't think I could deal with the crowds.

I would love to see a live tennis tournament one day, but the above mentioned difficulty with crowds and wondering if I could handle all of the logistics involved in actually going to a tournament have me doubtful. I would love to have the opportunity, however.

Yes, some people are definitely more difficult to deal with, if they are irrational or pushy.

Who, famous or not, has really inspired you? Is there someone who has inspired you to do better in your life?

Adam Young's songs, and some of Lecrae's lyrics have inspired me, or I thought about things after hearing them that I may not have, or I remembered some good things.

My boyfriend has inspired me to be me, and work on my mental health and self esteem.

Do you ever have difficulty getting up to eat breakfast? (if you eat breakfast first)

I’ve been a morning person.
While employed I sometimes ate after I got to work.
I had a microwave in my office.

After I retired I don’t always get up early, though last week I made it to one 5:30 AM Spin/ cycle class.

How do deal with love ones going through medical issues?

I'm not sure how I deal with loved ones going through medical issues. I visit them in hospital, sit by looking helpless, worry about impending death... I'm pretty useless in fact. Except in one particular instance where the medical condition was rare and interesting, in that case I gathered a lot of information off the internet....

Do you catastrophise any situation (ie think the worse possible outcome)

Apart from today - which is very fresh in my mind, I'd have to say my ninth because I had the completely crazy notion that God was going to strike me down in that year. I was filled with dread. I put my affairs in order - ie requested that my stepfather adopt me legally. I also accidentally got adopted by my mother, I tried to point out the error but the officials just thought it was cute that I had accepted my 'mother' as I proclaimed - but she already is my mother!

My 15th was memorable too but for an equally sad reason.

:P That's really cute. N told me today that he was listed as deceased on his brother's death certificate, because he was the one who ordered and paid for it. Ironic that you have a similar story about clerical errors!

Do you like being even years old or odd years old?

Odd and even years have their own specialness, I don't prefer one over the other. I think 64 was the best number to have as a birthday because it is so very square ( 2x2 4x4 8x8 - for any readers not mathematically inclined) I don't think I will get to 144. I like 42 - the meaning of life, and 49 as it is 7x7 and the 7's are so very odd. Anything with 5 in it is fortuitous (sp?) Ah don't get me started I could go on and on and on. and on.

I remember trying to teach multiplication to a young girl and telling her that multiples of seven were easy, because of the colour patterns in the anwers. "You know, 7 x 7 are both windy grey and the answer is lime pink, so just think of green and pink blowing in the wind".

Let's just say she didn't understand.

I like your numbers rationale. I agree 5's are fortuitous. I remember thinking I was over the hill at 26 since 25 seemed like the definite end of anything remotely resembling youth.

Are you able to read music?
