No, I don't spend enough time on this forum. Life keeps getting in the way. I want to hang out with my friends here but I have had a whole lot of website work come in plus I have had some shutdown time meltdowns that are a bit counterproductive. I try and catch up by lurking every day.

In a perfect world we wouldn't need this technology to connect. So, no.
I'd rather meet people in person.
I'd also like to see no TV, radios, and cellphones...

Have you ever been homeless?

Homeless as in sleeping outside without shelter? No. Homeless as in not having your own place and having to sleep on floors of friend's apartments? Yes.

Do you rub your face or head if you're frustrated or stressed?

I rub my face a lot, even if I'm not stressed (although, with PTSD I suppose one is perma-stressed). I don't rub my head per se but I do twirl my hair quite a bit. My hands can't ever sit still. That's honestly one reason I come on here: it's an opportunity to type and keep my hands going. That's why I knit, too. As much as I love reading, it's difficult because my hands don't want to sit still and hold the book. I've learned that big hardcover books are better because they can stay open on my lap while my hands stim.

Do you have any fidget types of things?

I have one of those "fidget cubes" at work that has useless buttons, a switch, etc. I don't use it that often. Instead I have a "stress ball" about the size of a tangerine that I squeeze more frequently.

I have a piece of satin trim from my baby blanket whose name is Tickle. I tickle my fingers and my face with him thousands of times a day when I'm home. I took him to school with me from age 7 onward and by a miracle never lost him.

I still have the blanket and could cut another piece if I need to, but so far so good. Tickle is my frayed but trusted stimmer!

Post note: Due to extenuating circumstances I went seven years without him and nearly died from sensory deprivation and shutdown -- I had to use the edge of tshirts or satin ribbon. It was horrible.

Do you chew things? (pen caps)?

Did your mother ever put nametags on your clothes when you went to camp or vacation?

No, my mother was too busy cleaning to take care of me.

I chew pen caps too. Even pen 'ends'.

same q about tags

My mother used to sew on nametags when I went to camp---but not after about 1971.

This was probably due to the "lessened" status of the camp I went to (though I really didn't care about "camp status)."

Were you ever in Boy/Girl Scouts/Guides?

I only went to camp once. I was bullied because I didn't know what country I was in (it was a long, long drive) and because of some stims I did in my sleep. All the girls received "pre-written" letters from their parents except me. I was devastated that I didn't receive one.

I went to a Communist Club similar to Girl Guides. lol.
It was actually a Christian organisation but I've since read that it began in Communist Russia so I laugh at that.

Cub Scouts, then Boy Scouts for one year. I earned few or no "merit badges." The Den and Troop were for kids with what we now call "special needs."

Same question.
