I don't get why they pretend there's no cure for cancer, when it likely exists.
Cancer is a multi-billion dollar industry.
Too many people would be out of work if they admitted they know a cure.
Instead they'll fundraise millions of dollars a year, and make themselves rich.

The cancer society treated my father worse than a dog.
I won't even give those fu** ers a single penny.

I don't get why people pretend pit bulls are not wired more to attack unprovoked and they get offended when anyone says the uncomfortable truth about them.

I have often thought it to be somewhat odd how there is never any progress on the cure front. Perhaps there is no cure and the works towards a cure bears no fruit, yet they still rake the money in anyway?

I think that seems more likely than a conspiracy.

Have owned at least one Pitbull, and my late husband had one before in his life before he met me..
The ingrained wired thing to Attack is merely a product of ownership and training …..
Ours was bought as a animal to scare off predators . It did not work ..the animal repeatedly loved anyone whom came to give her any attention . And we regularily gave her lots of that . But she was so lovable , we had to keep her.
She looked tough but loved things to death . Late hubbies previous Pit was the same way .
It really seems to have to do with how they are raised . IMHO .. Owned the last one over ten years. And got her as a
Full grown teenage dog . I miss her . :? My previous English Harrier Hound was much more territorial and aggressive

I feel like finding a "cure" for cancer is similar to finding a "cure" for autism. There's innumerable different types of "cancer" with their own mechanisms, genetic and environmental causes, treatments, etc. There's most likely cures for some specific types of cancer, but I don't think that we'll ever have one general cure for cancer as a whole, nor do I think that we have one now.

True ^
I didn't mean it to sound like there's a magic cure for cancer as a whole.

Sorry but it's a trigger topic for me considering everyone in my family who has ever died, both sides, going back generations, has died of cancer except for one suicide in a person who happened to have cancer.

It killed my dad in the most barbaric way possible and he was treated terribly.
My mother has cancer.
My brother went blind from what they think is a rare brain tumour.
My kids and I have cancer markers.

I'm not a happy camper when it comes to cancer, but regardless I do think a lot of it's big pharma making money.

I don't get why people have to suffer.

Those ruddy, pointless gender roles that people still want to hold on to. I'm a soldier boy. Treat me as such.

I don't get why people have a beef about people not wanting deep wrinkles or any chest wrinkles or sleep wrinkles or not wanting to age prematurely. Not everyone wants to look 40 at 27

And I don't get how people can be so excited about aging and can't wait to die of old age. I knew a girl on my softball team who told me she couldn't wait to see herself get old and die.

I don't get why women have to look young throughout their lives while men don't have to.

I don't get why people pretend humans aren't wired to attack unprovoked.

Only half joking

Maybe I'll look into an AAC device.

I like that idea. Then we could delete and rephrase things couldn't we in real life

I'd love for you to give me lessons on how to appear approachable or warm or understandable. If only we all lived near each other in real life. Maybe you could assess my attitude, body language, tone etc.

It's either because I live in a small village or I am terminally intimidating, because most people take most things I say wrongly and get offended.

Once I said to a fellow mum in the school playground that she looked nice in her leather jacket. She was so offended! She snapped 'what do you mean, I look nice in this??'

I felt like saying 'erm...I'm giving you a compliment? Perhaps accept it graciously?' But I thought that would have made it worse.

I don't really talk to anyone anymore because whatever I say is taken wrongly, I don't know why so I've given up. I just tend to nod and smile at people now.

I don't get why anyone would get upset about how their posts get quoted in a thread. This happened to me on another board and to me it was like how a small kid throws a tantrum when they didn't get the colored popsicle they wanted. I blocked him because I don't know what other stupid shite he would get upset about and I don't want someone to pick arguments with me over stupid things.
