I cannot remember all of the dream, but it started with me queuing at what looked like a classic American bank window (bars separating the customer from the teller). I was surrounded by Chinese people going about whatever business they had.
I was collecting my bronze wings from the cashier, and they came in a small red box lined with black silk (as one might expect expensive jewellery to come in), accompanied by a crisp, cream envelope. She was wearing a standard-looking, if well-fitting, business suit: back pencil skirt and jacket, with a simple white shirt (not like a blouse). She was probably speaking English, as I could understand her; she was giving me information and instructions. These wings were some kind of honour or reward, and we're no larger than an inch wide each, with a pin attachment on the back. I read the letter (though I can recall none of the content, iwl).
At this point, a guide introduced themselves to me, and took me to a large sandstone (Victorian) building. She was dressed like the cashier, and I noticed her polished black heels.
Inside, I spoke with the teacher (dressed traditionally, in light blue) of an dancing/acting class as the class (all with wild hair, dresses in white tops and black trousers) performed something. I don't remember what we spoke about, but the guide may have been translating. We were in either an open-air courtyard or a double height, light and airy room. I say something to the teacher, who seems not to understand, so I walk on to the main floor area to demonstrate, with the students clearing the way. I do whatever I do (iwl, i have no idea what I did), but it seemed to be unwanted or inappropriate, and the guide explained that they wanted me to leave.
I go to leave, and break out in to song (!). They are silent when I'm done. I leave, and start walking down the large steps outside. The teacher and the class catch up with me and appear all smiles, crowding around me on the steps of this sandstone Victorian theatre school in China.
What?
