I consider myself more energetic than most people my age and a great deal more energetic than I was years ago.

I like to wander around looking at things when I get the chance.

Same q. re wandering around looking at things.

I enjoy wandering around a great deal and especially out in the woods, by the sea or in nature generally.

I also very much enjoy taking pictures of not just what I see but also to capture the atmosphere I am experiencing for later. It is important for me to enjoy the moment and just be present too. Especially when I am out in the woods.

Same question.

I don't take pictures of meaningful experiences. I don't like to experience things from "behind a camera" or "through a lens". I would rather indulge in the moment and be 100% present.

When I saw Garfunkel I told my companion she would have to take all the photos because I wasn't going to touch my camera in his presence. It turned out that photos (of him) weren't allowed, but I wouldn't have taken them myself anyway. We have nice pictures of the stage though. :P

I'm pretty much the same way. I like photographs. I find them fascinating. I can look at them for hours.

But I don't believe photographs convey, to any great extent, the experiences of people (unless the "experience" is plainly obvious within the photograph).

I was an autistic toddler. There's no evidence of this in my photos as a toddler.

Same question.

Do I ever--voices of self-blame and self-hatred be d---d. Maybe accepting that is part of this whole 'self-acceptance' shtick as an adult.

Have you ever felt that the real reason for why you were not hired is not b/c of the pretext of work experience and/or qualifications but b/c someone on staff thought "Your not good enough to hang around with us"?

I look "odd" in my childhood photos. I'm always standing in an uncomfortable posture, with twisted limbs, staring into space, stimming, or otherwise looking different than the other girls / children. I wish I could share some of the photos with you guys because I look so nerdy and I really stand out. I have such a vacant look in my eyes that it's quite obvious something is atypical. I'm still surprised no one had me tested or identified in any capacity.

sidetrack:
In one of my interviews I was told to my face that they weren't recommending me to the position because the other staff members wouldn't like me. They said "we don't see you fitting in socially". 8O

Did you feel "different" as far back as you can remember?

Yep. I always felt like I was "different." I've "known" this since I knew what the word "different" meant.

Same question.

Me too. I've spent my whole life "in my head" trying to figure out my place in this universe, feeling like I'm behind a wall of glass. I remember thinking these things as far back as three or four years old.

I've always felt like my mind and body aren't fully integrated, like I'm just "conscious thought" and that my body is some odd appendage I have to tote around, which doesn't quite fit. It doesn't feel like it's mine. That's not a gender statement, it's just that I lived in my head whereas my body was extraneous. All the other kids seemed illusionary.

Yes, definitely. I've always felt different, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Have you ever been told that you were wrong about something, only to find out years later that you were right all along?

I was told that if i don't withdraw into myself and try to approach people they'd become my friends. It took me YEARS to see that i was right about people, they don't like me 3ven when i approach them..

I was right along in that I was able to at least accomplish the wretchedly over-designed Ontario 'MCR3U1 Functions and relations' course despite what an abusive poser teacher who abusive used words such as right said.

Have you ever felt at some point say while growing up that if you were transparent about your level of 'non-belief' that you would have to live shamed?.

I doubt it, as there are various factors that continue to cause such chaos..

Do you think the sovereign nation you live in does a satisfactorily job of helping autistic persons overall?

I wish there was better understanding for individual needs in the school system.
