After my ex broke off all contact with me without explaining why, I met someone a few months later who I had a lot in common with including her trying to recover from an awful relationship. In fact, we both have the same medical issues and one day, she had a medical emergency in the middle of class. We have been together since.

Same question.

You heal a broken heart by learning more about yourself.

Why was I attached to this person?
Why was I hurt by this person?
Which of my needs were not being met?
Why did I settle for something that was clearly flawed?
How can I fulfil my needs on my own?
What did I learn from this experience?
Who might be able to help me, when I feel alone?

What if you were forced into the relationship against your will? Those questions don’t help then. Theres no cure then i guess

Same Q as i had already answered

I had that happen too, blooie. For seven years.
I would hope that if the relationship was against someone's will, their heart wouldn't get broken at the end. Mine was broken by the fall-out (financial, etc.) but certainly not by escaping the situation.

Do you believe in fate?

It would depend on the circumstance in which fate makes itself present.

Same question.

That's a tricky proposition. Philosophers have been debating this for some time, and I'm not sure what they would propose as an answer. (Perhaps one of you is a trained Philosopher...)

Personally, I think there is something like what we call fate or predetermination. However, I think it's just a constraint placed on our species, and therefore minds/consciousness, which disallows us to see the weave of time, as it were, because we can't make all possible choices because our bodies are bound by space-time. More or less.

Same question.

I believe that somethings are fated to happen, but how they happen and everything else all depends on free will.

Here's a super big, difficult question.

Do you believe that there is one source for everything that happens in the world, or do you believe that there are two opposite and opposing forces--good and evil--one that "likes" you and one that doesn't? Please explain in detail what you believe, if you can. :)

I believe the Good force is stronger than anything n more potent than anything
but as humans we overall choose n succumb to the evil force as it’s easier n more rewarding short-term—-
it’s like junk food
Edit- or rather, as humans we have both forces in our power and we as a civilization n society succumb to the worse thing thinking it will make us powerful etc
N i believe in an ultimate overriding good force n purpose that will make it all just n even in the end

Isabella - i didnt realizs that! Wow thnx fr telling me now i know it’s not just me. I know logically its many ppl who CD experience it but to ‘know’ someone personally who understands frm personal experience is  humbling as it causes me to look around at others’ pain frm that connection so u dont put ur troubles on a pedestal but see them in context

I thought you knew my story. I was held against my will but it began differently than yours, and the person is now institutionalised for the crime. Questions for us or anyone else in such a situation:

1. How can I avoid this again?
2. How can I get help for my trauma?
3. How can I find strength to celebrate my strengths?
4. How can I teach myself to trust people again, or to find good in humanity?

among others.

Hugs.

Trauma isn't a contest blooie, it's OK that you share! I'm consoled by your posts as much as you respect mine.
We're all equal on WP and we've all suffered pain in one way or another.

When I say you and I are sisters in many ways, I really mean it.

I believe there are many "forces" in the world. I don't believe there is any one "force"---good, or evil.

Did you like to be pushed on the swings as a kid?

I was never pushed on the swings. I learned to swing by myself. (My mother cleaned the house a lot, though.. that was more important I guess).

At my school there was a tire swing that would spin around on a chain. Kids liked to spin me on that but it wasn't the same as being pushed on a swing back and forth. :(

I was a little afraid as a young kid. The fear got less as I got older.

I used to hate the baby swings as a very little kid because it was metal and so cold!

Did you stay away from the monkey bars because of fear of heights?

No, I liked the idea of monkey bars. We had those at school too. I used to have blisters on my hands from crossing them.

When I was ten I fell off the monkey bars and broke my left wrist. It was such a bad break I needed surgery. I don't remember using the monkey bars after that, but I might have.

PS. I called them "mucky doos". I thought they were called "mucky boos" and I spelled my B backward once. From then on they were mucky doos. They still are.

I was a real coward as a little kid. I refused to go on the monkey bars for a long time. Maybe when I was 10-11, I would do tentative things on them.

Did you always have a rubberized floor in the play areas of parks where you played?
