I fried some mushrooms and onions without burning them, to add to the taters I plan to cook tomorrow, put them in a covered bowl, let them cool down, and put them in the fridge. It'd be too much of a strain to cook the mushrooms and onions on the same day as the taters and all the other things I put in them, and the oven, microwave and hotplates couldn't stand it either. The electricity blows a breaker if I run them all at the same time, and the breaker box is accessible only by the landlord's maintenance staff, so you have to be Einstein to get the job done at all or you could be without electricity for a day or two. This is no place for a master chef.

Put away a few groceries.

Played with the cat, combed her, and gave her some salmon puree and treats.

Set up the breakfast things ready for tomorrow, and made the breakfast this morning.

Took my blood pressure a few times, calculated the average and standard deviation, and added the results to my Excel file.

Removed a painful speck of dust from my right eye. Examined the big toe I hurt this morning when I accidentally banged it into the bedpost. Put my boots on. Walked once round the car park before giving up because of the pain from the sore toe and concern that I might make it worse. Took my boots off.

Prepared a salad and ate it.

Mucked about on the Web, giving and receiving information, some of it potentially useful, especially if fun can be considered a useful thing, which I think it is.

Just an ordinary day really, though without any major project going on. Lots of micro-achievements to keep things ticking over. I feel I should have done more, but I'm still getting over this virus and I feel entitled to take it easy especially at my age, so I forgive myself.

No, I just don't like pre-packed television dinners.

Re-fenced the garden. Pretty sure there's nowhere the dog can jump out now.

Seeing another person's post, I learned that you can color gradient your font.

It'd be interesting to see a poll of how many people you would delight by doing that, and how many people you'd annoy.

Oh it used to be a craze around here a few years ago if you can cast your mind back

That must have been during one of my long absences. I suppose there was a reason why it went out of fashion. I don't think I'd have liked it. I like things to be easy to read unless I'm having fun solving a puzzle that I've taken on as an act of free will. Maybe people eventually noticed that was true of them too.

Well I was always bitter about it because I didn't know how to do it

It's probably a matter of knowing some BBcode. You can find out by clicking the quote button on somebody's colour-text post, and then you can see how they did it.

Cooked breakfast, baked a raisin loaf, walked to Walmart, bought a few groceries, walked back, took 16 blood pressure readings over the course of the day and evening, made several cups of tea, microwaved a bowl of mashed taters, prepared a salad, did a bit of work on a computer program.
Also determined that the syphon caps on our 2 new soap dispensing bottles have a fairly common thread size so they look like they'll be interchangeable with other bottles and ordinary caps, so we'll be able to put the dispenser caps onto our existing soap bottles (which are still in good working order, it's the old dispenser caps that are packing up) and ordinary caps onto the soap dispenser bottles we bought today, so that we can use those bottles to store other liquids. I'm always making liquids that need storage bottles, so it'll save a dollar or two, and the recycling will help the planet and stop the capitalists making as much profit.
