Being alone in quiet surroundings with minimal stimulation except

1. My dog
2. My pyjamas and my stims
3. Music (S&G, Elton, Ozzy ballads) -- if I can handle music

That's assuming I can't talk to my trauma psych.

Have you ever participated in a picket / protest? (Holding a sign)?

Oh yes I used to love protesting when I was young. We protested about the war in vietnam a lot. We protested against Apartheid when the SA rugby team cam to NZ to play the All Blacks. I protest in a more sedate fashion now, writing stern letters, but back in the day I would wave signs and get in scuffles with the police...

Yes, I was active in a very large political protest about twenty years ago, wearing face-paint and enthusiastically touting my hand-made signs. I had a lot of energy then and really enjoyed it. Others said I inspired them with my dedication and passion.

I write a MEAN letter of protest or complaint, as well. You'd better watch out! (jokes to feeli0)

I hate to say this, but the part I hate is when / if I have to interact with my mother. I'm used to being alone, so interaction with her makes my mutism feel very awkward.

Cooking. When i was living with someone other than kids it was fun but cooking fr myself n one extremely picky eater n the other only eats one thing (ready-made chips), it’s not good. Esp sonce I developed bad connotations with it (ie cooking fr hrs and trying to feed elder fr hours to no avail etc)

I dont think Ive ever really been outright refused. Ive never asked someone out, and as for friends those connections are gradual.

Did you let some scenarios simply bypass intentionally or by circumstance?

Midnight and the early morning hours when it's dark outside, everything is quiet, and I can read uninterrupted by life.

Evening when I can just relax, eat food, play my music, and read or draw.

Whats the worst experience you had in school? (grade or college)

Primary School:
On my first day of school I was seated on the floor playing with a toy train during our play activities. My big brother had the same kind of train, so it made me feel confident to see a familiar toy.

My teacher picked me up from the floor by my ponytail and spanked me because I was supposed to know that the train was for boys only. "It's blue!", she yelled. She made a big deal of humiliating me and sent me to play at the "House" activity with the girls. The girls all laughed at me, likely because they were nervous.

University:
First year, when I was the last person on my floor to finish Christmas exams. I was there alone for several days.

Getting teased often in grade school for the abnormal gait I had which amounted to a lot of name calling and peers imitating my gait and laughing as a group.

Getting picked in the line up as literally THE very last person for the recess kickball game. I was the consolation prize for whichever captain was unlucky enough to be stuck with me?

At different times in middle school: Getting pushed, knocked down, books knocked out of my hands, punched in the face, tackled in the busy hall for no reason.

High school wasn't as bad. I did get called a f*g a lot which confused me since I'm hetero, but I think it was because of the way I dressed (which doesn't excuse their behavior).

I...hated...school. To this day, I count the last day of high school to be one of the happiest days of my life. It shares space with a wedding day, the birth of children and a few other things.

I thought of another when Magna mentioned being "last" in the kickball selection.

One day during a lunch break I was outside playing with caterpillars as I often did, and the bell rang for children to queue for entry. I waited for the caterpillar to crawl off my hand onto a leaf and ran to take my place. I was the last student at the end of the line. I wasn't "late", but I was "last". For this I was admonished and given detention. I said quite logically, "But, someone is always last in the queue? Does someone always get a detention?" I was reprimanded for talking back and my punishment was doubled.
