Art Garfunkel?

OOOOHHH -- you can have half a bag of gold. Very good answer! I picked a female, but Artie would be great too.

Could I be related to him by ... marriage? :P

Do you like Dr. Who?

Yes, it certainly would! (Magna wins other half).

I've never seen Dr. Who and I have no interest. People keep telling me to try it, though.

I could never get into Dr. Who either. My uncle really liked the show and I know someone else who has a teenage son and the son adores the show.

Would you rather have ice cream or sherbet?

I don't know that I have any advice. Other than that I knew a man who was autistic and non-verbal until 5-7 years old. I wish I could remember the exact age. He grew up to be a very communicative very intelligent married man who went into the medical field and had a high paying job working in a large medical laboratory. Kortie has reported that he was non-verbal also.

So...any advice from that would at least be two people I know of, and one of them I met face to face that became successful people!

Would knitting be easy to learn for a person who has difficulty with spatial relationships?

Alita ^

I used to do dinner parties when I was working and pretending to be NT. Never again.

My favourite memory from childhood is likely Christmas Eve traditions from the mid 1970s at my Uncle Frank's house.

I could write a book about Christmas Eve. I also loved Christmas morning 1975.

:D Thanks!

Also, hmm, knitting... I don't think it would be difficult at all. I've done it before and learnt pretty quickly, and I have lots of spacial issues.

What's the worst injury you ever had and how did you get it?

I was going to say the same thing. kortie didn't speak until he was six, and he finally spoke at a summer camp away from his parents. He certainly became successful. Maybe check with him or even jimmy_m, who knows so much about physiology. I'm assuming your son's nonverbal behaviour is not the result of any physical problem, and it's entirely attributed to autism? What have his doctors or therapists told you? I'm selective mute but my first words were around age 2 - 2.5, so it isn't the same at all. I wish I could offer more advice.

I have horrible spatial problems but I knit very well. It's about repetition, patterning and math. My dad taught me and he was ASD as well, but he was also an incredible visual artist so I doubt he had spatial issues.

My worst injuries were from physical violence :( but other than that I suppose my stroke or some surgical errors.

Are you interested in knitting?

I love doctor who.

Interested in knitting more in that I wonder how it's done but don't have the overwhelming desire to do it.

Same question.

I was always interested but lacked the ability ti understand
My little sister became proficient!
My mom had prior yo marriage done everything (they usually made their own clothes bcuz they were poor but their clothes actually looked classy n elegant!)
So she for instance had a beautiful dusty rose sweater (colour of kashmiri tea) that she had knitted that looked like a designer item.
So I became obsessed n bought yarn with my allowance needles etc n tons of books from the library
Cd never do iy but wd just spend hours admiring the yarn n needles n flipping through the books. Meanwhile my sister actually cd put it into practice. She tried to teach me but i cdnt do it

I first spoke when I was 5 1/2.

Ezra, who is now a great , smart-alecky political debater, didn't speak until he was 8.

My wife's brother had an adoptive son who didn't walk until well into preschool, and didn't talk until elementary school. Now, he's an auto mechanic.

I like informal Italian restaurants myself.

Is your nephew the auto mechanic autistic?

I usually have rice or just veg with meat.

I like restaurants with a lot of choice, so I can find something spicy.

Do you consider yourself a solipsist?

Nope. My nephews are all NT to the hilt! They seem to know there's "something wrong" with me.

There was a time when I was pretty solipsistic----before I started to talk. I'm not a person who really likes to "get into" himself. It sort of scares me.

Same question.

Not at all - although I did have to look up what that is.

Do you have any pets? If so, what kind(s)? If not, is there a kind of pet you would like to have?
