"Man's Search For Himself", by psychologist Rollo May.

It was written 50 years ago, as a response to the alienation, depression and anxiety that were experienced by many people in the Cold War era.

Despite high hopes I had for the book, so far it's been disappointing.

Do you subscribe to any magazines? If so, what are they? If not, which ones would you?

Which newspapers do you read (if you read any)?

I read a Dutch one everyday and it's called AD (Algemeen Dagblad). As of late I kinda skim the thing for all is so negative lately.

I read a lot about psychology lately but.... what is a topic, an interest, you like to read about?

Music is the most important for me but I also like oil paintings a lot. Architecture and other 3D stuff. Ah, oh, favourite.... ok, it's music. Because it's the most direct one and has the power to cheer me up when needed.

Is there an art form you tend to dislike? A style maybe.

Drama, or theater. I can't stand it. Daily life is drama enough for me.
I would never go to see a play or anything like that.

Ever been to a great museum? Tell us about your favorite.

The Dallas Museum of Nature And Science, which I think as a kid were two separate museum, the Museum of Natural History and the Museum of Science.

I liked the dinosaurs.

What would your reaction be if an emergency social service hotline only took live calls for the first day of the month, and you needed a place to live in the middle of the month?

I'm not familiar with the emergency social service hotline but that sounds pretty ridiculous (the one day a month).

Hmm... I do have two phones right now, with two separate lines. One is for general correspondence, the other is for my freelancing.

Also, when I was in high school (when the mobile-phone craze was at its peak in our place), I had a phone. So far, I have had 16 phones in total, all lost to theft and misplacement.

Have you misplaced something and never found it ever?

Edit: Too slow.

Usually if I misplace something I'll find it after some time.

Would you prefer to live in a way that is devoid of all our modern technology? (Living without electricity, appliances etc)

I wouldn't mine giving it a try. Living in that type of world would certainly be less hectic, and maybe time wouldn't pass by as quickly.

Would you be able to give up either tv or internet for a week?

Internet would be hard, because I actually do conduct business online. But it would be possible, I guess. I hardly ever watch TV.

Whether or not you've achieved it...
What do you feel is your life's "calling"?

I already did both - and for more than a week, let me tell you.
My grand-mother lived in an old house with only cold water on the sink and a hearth fireplace to warm.
That's fine in summer but not that much in winter.

~

How long would you like to try if you had the chance to?
