Two button

I don't know New Look.

Do you like pillbox hats?

Probably a Panama hat. Or a workman's cap (like Bob Dylan used to wear in the early 1960s.

Same question.

Much of the "New Look" was based upon the premise of the "A-line."

Skirts tended to really flow in the wind back then.

The fifties were the last decade when people (of either sex) dressed well:

I LOVE polka dresses.

I mourn for men who wore proper, brimmed hats and full length coats.

That's a "New Look" dress.

I wear dresses frequently, and I have one rather similar to that.

I don't know why women think jeans are more comfortable.

Do you think you will ever go in a flying car?

I used to think, because of the Jetsons, that we would have flying cars by the year 2000.

No dice!

I believe, maybe, in 20 years or so, that the rich might have flying cars. Sort of like the billion-dollar moon missions planned for select people.

Same question.

I still wear a trilby whenever I'm in the city - and a flat cap in the countryside. I get some good-natured, amused looks from people, doing so at my age. Whenever I meet someone who can remember when men my age still dressed well, it's so cheering to see what it means to them.

I do like pillbox hats, though I think they're a little too discreet. I think berets and brimmed hats go best on women. Kraftie will probably tell me that a beret is a pillbox - somehow.

Given that most people are incapable of driving road cars well (myself included), I hope not.

My grandmother carried a 1950's train case when she flew. I still have it.

Should I carry it to travel? I love it.

Some men could still dress in the 70s. Kraftie's fellow New-Yorker Kojak always struck me as being the foremost of them:

Although if he'd attended a British boarding school he'd have been told to leave his bottom waistcoat button undone.

Probably Muenster or Cheddar. Grilled Swiss, but not cold Swiss.

Same question.

Probably the violin (though I can't be in a depressed mood). And/or the piano or harpsichord.

Same question.
