Do you thin there are barriers that are currently existing out there which autistic people face when it comes to employment as a whole?
I guess it depends. If the autistic person can do the job just as well as an NT, than no not at all. But if their autism really shows through and makes the potential employer wary, than......yeah. If a perfectly qualified NT vs a perfectly qualified ND were going after one spot, the NT would probably win. Lots of jobs require an immense amount of social skills and your interactions during the job interview might throw someone off. This is of course assuming they dont know you;re autistic. But even if they did, they might naturally assume you have a lack of proper social skills that would make you unqualified and a risky employee.
But I dont think there are any like
real barriers. Like, jobs cant turn you away specifically because you're autistic if you are capable of doing said job. Like, if you're qualified and everything and meet their criteria. That would just be plain discrimination. And thats illegal.
How many hours on average do you spend on your phone every day?
