About once every two months.

I own about 3-4 pairs of shoes, and about the same quantity of sneakers.

One pair of shoes. What are sneakers, by the way?

Do you ever wear gloves?

I have no idea about shoes. I'd guess that including sandals, flats, heels, trainers, tall (dressy) boots, wellies, winter boots, and everything ... maybe about 25 pairs? I'm really not into shoes like some women are, but I wear a lot of dresses and skirts, and I worked full-time in a career where I had to dress nicely.

I have a pair of dress gloves for fancy occasions but I don't wear winter gloves very often. I prefer mittens in the winter.

Do you have a fire extinguisher?

No, and I've also removed the batteries from my smoke alarms, as they sometimes went off while I was cooking and drove me up the wall, metaphorically speaking.

Have you ever been a smoker?

I smoked for a few months as an adolescent, just to fit in. It was horrendous and I couldn't even inhale.

What is your favourite play by Shakespeare?

Maybe Richard III, we studied it for GCE 'O' Level, and it's a pretty straightforward play with a deal of historical interest. I've read quite a few Shakespeare plays, but found them heavy going.

Were you good at exams?

I was terrified of exams because of the uncertainty of which material to emphasise. I have a photographic memory with synaesthesia, so I used to write my study notes in various colours on large poster boards to view. I also used a lot of mnemonics and short-term memory aids. I was usually successful but that was through extreme over-preparation.

I always preferred writing papers which I could prepare systematically with research, and more time.

Oh -- and KIng Lear is my favourite.

I was very good at exams at school, but developed an aversion to essay-writing in my later teens, which made the university experience a good deal less enjoyable. I got through mainly because of my ability with the languages (Latin and Greek).

Have you ever made your own wine or beer?

No, but I've brewed my own kombucha which has trace amounts of alcohol. I don't any longer because I find it too tart.

Do you like Swiss cheese?

It's interesting that we're opposites with regard to exams.

I've been thinking of going back to school or taking a class, but I don't know if I could tolerate the structured format anymore. I'm so accustomed to self-direction now.

No, I've never made either.

Hi Magna! Yes I like Swiss.

Who was the last person you spoke to verbally?

Seldom, to be honest.

How often do you wake up feeling refreshed and optimistic? lol

I won't feel fresh tomorrow since I'm up to stinkin' late. Shame on Magna! Optimistic? I often wake up that way. It's the various experiences of the day that can bludgeon me into a pessimistic mess!

Most of the time, I wake up very optimistic, even though I've had events that have stressed me out in the last couple of weeks. Thankfully, many of these issues have been resolved.

Not too often, actually.
