I admire JW Waterhouse, especially his Lady of Shalott paintings. I've posted them before, but I'm on my phone so I won't try again!
Do you prefer warm or cool colour palettes?
Ah, Isabella! We are kindred spirits as usual! Waterhouse's Lady of Shalott is my favorite as well! I fell in love with the original in the Tate Gallery. Just sat in front of her for hours. Every time I've been back to the Tate I've gone straight to her. When my wife and I first met we both had prints of her above our beds. Knew we were meant for each other!
I have to admit I don't know the difference between warm and cool palettes. My ignorance!
Even so, same question!
Sigh!! Yes, The Lady! She's sublime!!
What a lovely love story, by the way!
warm colours= red orange yellow
cool colours= blue purple green
^ and all the tertiary hues in between.
I'm solidly in the cool camp.
Tidbit: In art, warm colours make images appear closer, while cool colours recede.
