I admire JW Waterhouse, especially his Lady of Shalott paintings. I've posted them before, but I'm on my phone so I won't try again!

Do you prefer warm or cool colour palettes?

Ah, Isabella! We are kindred spirits as usual! Waterhouse's Lady of Shalott is my favorite as well! I fell in love with the original in the Tate Gallery. Just sat in front of her for hours. Every time I've been back to the Tate I've gone straight to her. When my wife and I first met we both had prints of her above our beds. Knew we were meant for each other!

I have to admit I don't know the difference between warm and cool palettes. My ignorance!

Even so, same question!

Sigh!! Yes, The Lady! She's sublime!!

What a lovely love story, by the way!

warm colours= red orange yellow
cool colours= blue purple green

^ and all the tertiary hues in between.

I'm solidly in the cool camp.

Tidbit: In art, warm colours make images appear closer, while cool colours recede.

I collected (received) souvenir spoons as a child and I still do, from time to time. My favourite is from London. It's delicate and it has a sterling silver carriage on the tip -- quite like a Cinderella carriage. It might have been from the time of Charles and Diana's wedding. I can't remember who gave it to me, but I think it was my Auntie Lil.

We have a gorgeous hand-embroidered cloth with Celtic knotwork and pulled-thread edging that was given to us for our wedding to stand on during the ceremony. I was afraid to touch it let alone stand on it. Now it is in a frame.

What is your favorite precious or semi-precious stone?

I love a periwinkle gem called Alexandrite but it goes for $50 - $70K US per carat.

... on a more accessible scale I like periwinkle sapphires.

I like lapis lazuli. It is not expensive, and it is one of the few natural examples I've seen of what is truly my favorite color.

What is your favorite kind of tree?

I don't respond to CBT at all. If I could change my trauma / ASD behaviours by cognition, I would have done so long ago. Likewise I don't respond to Gestalt which relies on body cues. I have alexithymia and can't read those sensations, nor do I want to participate in group role play.
