Yes, my father insisted I go with him once when I was a kid. I barely managed to hit a ball off the tee, though I did manage to excavate some impressive craters - so, thankfully, I was not asked to do it again. I'm in total agreement with Mark Twain - "a good walk spoiled"!

What historical sporting event would you most like to have attended (or did attend)?

Not sure if this really counts but I wouldve loved to be there to see Secretariat cross the wire at the Belmont

I wish I'd been present at a League Division 4 football match in April 1971, when the team I supported produced their best performance of the season to defeat York City away from home, and effectively secure promotion to Div 3 (York had been unbeaten at home for 18 months prior to this game).
