I saw a video of Rafael Nadal making incredible tennis shots-truly jaw-dropping and fun to watch! He moves like a cat!

Same q.

Yes, but I can't think of an example at the moment.

Have you ever you ever fantasized about being a famous musician?

All the time. I'd be a concert pianist.

Same question.

I've always fantasised about conducting the Berlin Philharmonic. My musical hero has always been Herbert von Karajan - but for his unfortunate Nazi past.

What do you think of the Douay-Rheims translation of the Bible?

Hi Prom!

I don't know enough about Douay-Rheims to comment. Sorry!

Do you count your blessings or make lists of things you're grateful for?

Nope. I always thought that a rather silly, New Age sort of thing to do, not that I'd hold it against anyone :P

Who's your favourite saint?

St. Michael. Oh, and St. Peter!

Who is your favourite American author?

Douay-Rheims is a Catholic translation of the Bible dating to the end of the sixteenth and beginning of the seventeenth centuries, named after the French towns in which exiled English scholars translated the old and new Testaments respectively - from the Latin Vulgate. It actually predates King James, my preferred Bible, but one I must effectively give up as a convert to Roman Catholicism.

My favourite American author? I'd go with Thoreau, though I'm sure I'd be able come up with a better answer with a little more thought.

Who's your favourite French author?

Which member of your family do you speak with most frequently?

Although unasked, I can't resist (I'm perhaps a narcissist at heart, after all) letting everyone know my favourite is Baudelaire, a decidedly unchristian (almost Sadean) poet. Though his repressed Christianity surfaces more often than people think.

I speak most often with my father, by quite some way. I don't really speak with anyone else at all though, unlike almost everybody else my age, my parents are still together.

What do you think of Samuel Johnson?

I think he was a great man, by all accounts including the Brontës.

What do you think of Daylight Savings Time?

Peter Hitchens (brother of the late Christopher), as he so often does, sums it up perfectly:

Abide With Me
Forth in thy Name
Gloria in Excelsis Deo
O Holy Night

How many servings of vegetables do you have per day?

My favourite hymns are Abide with Me, Jerusalem and Weary of Earth and Laden with my Sin (the last not sung anymore because too austere and emotionally demanding, the same reason Cranmer's unsurpassed book has been abandoned).

I'd say I get two or three portions of veg in a day.

Who's your favourite Dostoevsky character?

Myshkin
Raise the bar, and I'm on to read The Idiot again when I finish my current list.

Do you wear cologne?
