I agree with 886, I'm a little clueless when it comes to popularity. I think the reason the majority of my posts never get replied is due to my terrible skills in both word choice and organization. I try to keep my replies and posts simple but sometimes I just can't help it I guess.

I don't know if you're aware of this or not (and I don't want to sound arrogant) but it's almost never called "Gaelic" in English in Ireland itself (and the times it is it's often an insult); it is simply called Irish. :)

I'm sure I have a few tricks up my sleeves of avatars for St Paddy's Day.

I am the same way! The only difference is, sometimes the things I say go off the wrong way because of my sprawling disorgansed writing style and the fact that sometimes my posts can go over people's heads.

Will make note of that.

My mom's grandparent's side of the family came from Ireland. My grandmother use to make it a big tradition to celebrate that side of our family, both her father and mother came straight from Ireland. My mom is a major Irish-Anglophile. I suppose to a good extent I am as well but I've always had a main interest in the Celtics that use to be all over Europe. All in all though I'm just the average heinz 57 American lol. If my dad's mom hadn't remarried, all of our last names would've been Duffield which is Scotch.

Hello :D

This is a great thread! My thoughts on popularity etc - I believe that in an ideal world we would all accept and embrace diversity, and be kind and polite towards others. I always try my best to do this - but then I am a bit of a hippy at heart I guess.

Hi. I don't have good control over my reactions and words, but would like to, especially here in this thread.
