Actually at first sight i like everyone, i'm so captured by the moment 'now' that i can get into everything, every kind of conversation, etc
only after a while i start noticing that i cannot keep on having contact with certain persons because they hurt me, are too exhausting or simply because i don't have the time.
Real friendship though only happens after a long time, often I know it will happen but there is still moments that have to be spend together in order to fortify this

Have you got something particular that most other people don't have (apart from Asperger's)?

This is not so much a have as a have-not.

As the result of a hockey accident, both of my upper front teeth are damaged. The left one is missing all but the stump, and of the right one a half remains. The nerve of the right one is still there and causes trouble at times.

I was told by the dentist who saw me at the dental hospital that the nature of the break was quite rare, and that he'd only ever heard of two such cases before (and by coincidence all three cases happened in the same week).

Same question.

Um, tough one 'cause lots is Asperger related.... this one probably also but I have a strong sense of justice, right and wrong or ethics and most folks nowadays do not seem to have that anymore. Another one, what most males (females also) don't seem to understand about me is that I seek love and not sex per se. Nowadays morals concerning sex.... well, I guess I'm old fashioned in that area.

Or maybe this one.... I have a little birthmark on my nose, symmetrical spot on, but as of last year it became a little bump, itchy sometimes and now it slowly turns me into a witch. 8O

Nah, no witch but as a little side track info, I'm thinking of letting it be cut away. Not so much out of vanity but more to be 'better save than sorry'.

Is there a feature, a physical feature where you are, lets say, not so proud of?

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

Yes. I do. I'm generally nice, and I'm not out to screw anyone over. In very primitive terms, I think that makes me a good person.

What has been the greatest turning point in your life thus far?

Hmm...that's a really good question. I think it's the moment I'm in right now. Having the courage to end a marriage that isn't right for me, even though he's a good guy. It's not right for either of us and although the future is uncertain, and I could have lived in comfort and stayed within my safety net, I felt like I needed and deserved more. So instead of going with predictable, I went with the unknown. That's gutsy for me. Instead of being stuck, I'm now moving forward and I'm learning a lot about myself as I go.

Same question...

That's a really good, and tough, question. I think the single greatest turning point in my life was when I left home at 25 to go to school 3,000 miles away. It was tough, and I went through some hard times, but I think that was the point when I really started learning about myself, and started becoming my own person (a process that's still going on, by the way). For the most part I'd always done what came easy and what was comfortable until then. That was the first time I really challenged myself. But definitely not the last.

What's one thing that others around you said you were good at but, for some reason, you just couldn't believe them?

Drawing. Or video games. I think I suck, but apparently my friends get mad because I'm better than them? Eh, you are your own worst critic.

Do you know the muffin man?

Looked it up and it's an old English rhyme, dated back to around 1820 and the mudder fopper apparently lived on Drury Lane, London. In Holland we sing, 'zeg, ken jij de mosselman, de mosselman, de mosselman', (blah 3x), 'die woont in Scheveningen'.... (same melody)

Do you prefer to read fiction or non-fiction? (or prefer to not read at all maybe)

I prefer fiction, I think. I've been reading a lot more non-fiction recently though.

Who is your favourite fictional character? Why?

Robinson Crusoe, because he made the best of his situation and had an entire island to himself with fortifications and agriculture.

The first one that comes to mind is Harry Haller, the protagonist in Hermann Hesse's novel, "Steppenwolf". When I first read that book, I was utterly floored, because in the author's descriptions of Haller, I felt as if he was reciting the script to my entire life. I had a profound connection with the character, and thus reflectively felt a deeper connection with myself.

Well he's not from a book... it's the Prince of Persia of course. Why? I just think he's a character I can relate to (in a very bizarre way albeit). Firstly, he goes about his missions alone (well mostly), and it seems as if his life is a constant battle to find peace and happiness. That reminds me someone I know very well.

Is there a celebrity or person of interest that you suspect might be an aspie?

In general I prefer almost all things to be as natural as possible. It's true but with light it depends a bit. Real bright daylight on a sunny day is sometimes bothering me quite a tad and I have a few lamps that give a orange/redlike glow and in the evening/ at night I like that a lot too but to make a choice I say natural light.

Not 100% sure but I have a strong sense that Leonardo da Vinci was an Asperger, reading stuff about his life I sometimes recognize things and think mmmm, recognizable. Maybe Socrates was one too and other philosophers as well but it's hard to tell not really knowing the lads.

Do you like to read about philosophy or the thoughts expressed by philosophers?
