I'm battling suicidal thoughts right now.

I can't even find a good shelter at the moment.

Do you ever feel left out? (of anything)

Oh - life.

What do you think of the veneration of the Virgin Mary in the Catholic Church?

I am struck by how widely it varies among the local Catholic churches around the world.

Same question.

For me, it's one of the greatest attractions of the Roman Church, perhaps because my own mother is so unlike her.

What do you think of the Jerusalem Bible?

Being the official RC Bible in Britain for lectionaries, it's a necessity, but I much prefer the English of Douay-Rheims and even KJV.

It smacks of Arianism. I admire their level of devotion, however.

Among other things, it is a denial of the role of divine grace and was rightly condemned.

Same question.

I sympathize with it on a certain level, as I think I've mentioned to you before. The doctrine of Original Sin, although an unsurpassedly good metaphor about human nature, seems to require a kind of "suspension of disbelief"; it's true, but in a transcendental, mysterious sort of way. Of course, I still reject it - for basically the same reason you do.

What do you think about the moral status of contraception, from a Church point of view?

There are reasons for which a couple may be blessed to use contraceptives (not abortifacients), and we follow St. John Chrysostom, who affirms that marital relations need not always be solely for the purpose of procreation, but also for the strengthening of the marital bond.

Same question.

As an RC, I have to reject it completely, though it's a shame, given that it effectively condemns me to lifelong celibacy, unless I marry an infertile woman (I will never have children).

I don't think he made an adequate case for schism, certainly.
